Remarks:
Mr. Dharmendra Dhamala, Section Officer, ERHD welcomed the guests and participants come for the review meeting. Mr. NawaRaj Subba, Sr.P.H.O., ERHD outlined on the objectives and methodology of workshop. Mr. Prabhat Bangdel from UNICEF expressed best wishes that this review meeting would be successful. Mr. Bijay Bhattarai, health secretary outlined guidelines on purchasing drugs in the districts. Dr. Mahananda Mishra, regional director extended vote of thanks and close the opening session as a chairman.

Remarks:
Mr. Rakesh Thakur, District Public Health Officer requested to nominate the health worker for abroad training and observation on the basis of performance of his/her work. Dr. Murali Prasad Singh, District Health Officer, expressed this review meeting as very useful, which guides districts in a right direction. Mr. Hira Tiwari from Nepal Family Health Programme (NFHP) expressed that this review meeting has been successful and he congratulated to organizer and to all participants. Dr. Kabir Ahmed from UNFPA appreciated the way of presentation of review meeting which was informative and interactive as well and congratulated to regional and district teams. Dr. R.L.Karwa, Medical Superintendent of Koshi Zonal Hospital, advised health workers to discharge the duty with the spirit of service motive.
Dr. B.D. Chataut, Director General of Department of Health Services, said that process of transfer and deputation of employee has been stopped until Mangsir 2060; so that duplication of transfer at each levels would be prevented. He said that Operational researches could be conducted in Public Health field. Training / review meetings are ongoing process which need for skill development. Mental health problem could be solved only by community-based intervention. Policy level has not yet focused on such bulk of burdens of mental health problems in the community.
Dr. Mahananda Mishra, Chairman/ Regional Director, thanked Secretary for Health, Director General, regional team, all partners and participants from all districts.
Before this, Mr. NawaRaj Subba, Senior Public Health Officer, had presented the presentation on the recommendations collected from districts and partners on behalf of Eastern Regional Health Directorate.
