Description: King K.Rool has stolen Donkey Kong's banana stash, and Donkey Kong needs your help to get them back. In search of K.Rool, you'll have to get past thousands of evil Kremlings, ranging in size from tiny chipmunks and baby snakes to larger beasts such as bald eagles and crocodiles. Leading them are four dastardly bosses - Gnawty, Necky, Bumble B, and Dumb Drum - and they all bar the way with their own special blend of villainy.
Donkey kong country introduction Finally after so many years of Mario and Luigi games, Nintendo decided to make a comeback of one of the earliest game characters of all time, the Donkey Kong! In this incredible game, Donkey Kong is in fact a good guy. Looks like he's changed his ways :). Teamed up with his little buddy Diddy Kong, Donkey has a mission to restore their stolen bananas. The creatures responsible for this are the evil Kremlings who must be beaten in order for the Kongs to get their bananas back! Graphics [10/10]: What else can I say than "this is the game that made me buy my SNES!". Actually the graphics caught my attention mostly of everything because they are just superb! This game when played nowadays makes the player think he owns a Nintendo 64, that's how good the graphics ACM technology of this game is! Everything from backgrounds to the characters is done perfectly. Each character is well animated and although this is a 2-d game, they show a bit of 3-d movements. The good thing about this game is that whether there are a lot of characters on the screen at the same time or not, the movements of them are without any slowups whatsoever. Kongs move realisticly as well as the enemies and bosses. This game is one of the rare eyecandy games that actually has a great gameplay! Music and Sound [9/10]: At the very beginning of the game you will be stunned by the jungle drums that follow the gameplay and the movement of the Kongs perfectly. Compared to today's standards the sound of this game is nothing special, but compared to other SNES 16 bit titles, the sound rocks! Every level has a suitable background music that follows it amazingly well, and sometimes it makes you wistle the toones while playing, which usually makes you lose a life or two. ;) Game Play [9/10]: Ah yes, the game play. Well the most important part of every video game is in this one exactly how it should be. The software company that made Donkey Kong Country (RAREWARE) made sure that you do not stick only with one of the Kongs throughout the whole game, no, you need them both for certain places, so it virtually is impossible to use one of the Kongs only. For long jumps you will need Diddy Kong who is smaller and jumps better. He also handles the barrels better which he picks up on the way, than Donkey Kong. Diddy can get away by only carrying a barrel and bumping into an enemy with it, while Donkey will have trouble in that situation and will have to throw it directly at an enemy instead of not worrying and freely bump into him. But, Donkey Kong is bigger, and much phisically stronger than Diddy, therefore he can hit the ground and find secret bannanas hidden there, or coins and lives. The need of both Kongs at specific places is what makes this game so fun and brings great game play! Also, there's an option of 2 players playing together as a team, or one against another. The teamwork mode is very amusing if you play it with a friend, and it is much harder to complete the game that way. Challenge and Replay [9/10]: A very challenging title we have here. Donkey Kong Country is filled with secret caves, places where secret coins, or lives can be found. After completing this game, you will want to play it again because you will notice that there is a percentage of the completness of the game, which will make you start up again and get to the 100th percent, which means, find all the secrets! :) Conclusion/Overall [9.2/10]: Donkey Kong Country is a must have. In my opinion, this is the best action-platform game released on SNES, ever! It provides lots of quality gameplay which will make you spend hours before you complete it. Great sound and graphics are the highlights of it. Never before seen on a 16 bit system, the ACM graphics really hit the spot! Get this title and have fun!
