PAUL
(inspired by Paul Gauguin)

I will watch at the sea, like it was one time in your
Thaiti.
You, that were a sailor, knew how to talk to the ski.
Infinitely, with no horizons.
Thank you for teaching how important that is to the
world, Paul. They need it.
They run, run, run, but where are they going?
Let me follow your example, on the shore of Thaiti,
and let me think about the beauty of life.
5 kids you had, guess what, the same number I want.
But then againyou flew back to your land. Your
emotions do fight with the matter, the revolution of
the senses that was, in the vibrant yellow of your
sun, in the intense sea of your thoughts, in the
striking beauty of the woman.
You, that shut your eyes in order to see, will always
remain with us. The sensations condensed in your
paintings come alive in the triumph of imagination.
Yes, contemplating your paintings, let me create a
story, let me dream a bit more; dont let me think
about the commotion around me. May the world stop, but
I would never let pass somebody to take my dreams
away. You live your eyes, you always defended it, even
in its most sensitive phases.
Now put that flamboyant red near the dazzling yellow,
let another story come up. Let another emotion be born
from our hearts.
Dont worry, even if now your eyes cant see and you
can barely walk, I see coming from you a vivid,
special joy, that unfortunately Vincent didnt get.
But Im sure hes still there, daarbuiten aan nacht en
verven het ster (
out at night painting the stars).
