I was born in Yamaguchi, Japan, (pre-WW2). We stayed in Japan only 3 months. My parents had a Japanese lady to help take care of me. Her name was "Kiyo-San". I was a sick baby. In June of 1941, we got the last American Ship, and sailed to America. It took 6-months to get to America, because the ship had to dodge the bombs from the air. We arrived in San Francisco, on Christmas Eve. I was 9-months old, and I weighted 9-lbs because I didn't get the proper food.
On the way to America, we stopped in Hawaii. The next stop was Manilla. That's where I caught Impetigo, which is a contagious disease. My Grandparents, my Dad, and my Aunt raised me. My Mother died of throat cancer, when I was 11-months old. Still, I had a happy childhood.
In August 1973, I entered The Corpus Christi Monastery. I was there for 11-nonths. I left the Monastery in July 1974. After that I lived in various places.
I met my husband in Belmount, California. We dated for seven months. We were married on October 19, 1975. We started a family immediately. My husband and I decided to move to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan because we wanted our sons to be raised in a safe environment. In Michigan there is fresh, clean air, no smog, no earthquakes, no avalanches, and no huge traffic build-up on the freeways like in California.
We are very happy here, in Michigan. I always wanted to live in a place that has "The Four Seasons" of the year.
