| Welcome! This page has been published to show my HO scale model railroad. I know that there never was a Fremont, Ohio Subdivision of the Chessie System, but since Chessie is my favorite railroad and since I live in Fremont, I created a fictional local operation using Chessie locos. |
| The Fremont subdivision is on a 4 x 8 foot blue board. It consists of an oval main line with two sidings. This is my first ever personally constructed model railroad, so it isn't anything too outstanding. The scenery is not very thick. I have used blueboard sprayed with an artificial rock paint to create a set of rock slab cliffs in which the train runs through. I use Bachmann Nickel E-Z-Track which I placed in a 1/4 inch channel carved into the blueboard. I have used flat gray ballast stone over the tracks. The ground is green hobby paint with Woodland Scenics crushed green foam and Woodland Scenics grass and dirt mixture pressed into the paint. Roadways are constructed from gray colored "ladder tape" which is similar to a fine sandpaper, the yellow raod stripes are painted on. |
