EVIL
: A HUMAN ENERGY FORCE Morris
A Bradley There is much
written and preached concerning the power of evil, yet who knows what evil
really is. Simply, it is the opposite of good, but then again, what is good
and who made the first distinction and who drew the line of demarcation
showing where one stops and the other starts. Who was it who first laid down
the rules and said, "Everything I do and say is good, and everything I
don't do or like is evil." In the Bible story of the Garden of Eden we
are told about the Tree of Knowledge, which allows mortals to know about good
and evil. However, this is purely an analogy which tries to explain the
difference between the two types of action. These two
things in our lives could be likened to matter and anti-matter, two opposing
forces that are needed in physics so that an energised
ion force will flow from one to another. Can we then say that we need evil as
a balancing effect against God? If this is so we could not live without evil.
Some even reason that evil just as a means of measuring how good things can
be, and use terms such as, 'This is a necessary evil.' Perhaps if we put it
in simpler terms we must look to early man's growth and development and our
ancestors saw that certain things seemed to benefit them, like good crops and
rich harvests with plenty to eat and drink and many offspring being produced
to enlarge the family species, so they liked this and said, 'It is good.'
Then, along came floods, earthquakes, epidemics,
pestilences that caused food shortages and hunger, so they labelled this as bad because they did not like the
consequences of this action. When we look at
the story in Genesis in the Bible about the creation it tells how God
supposedly told Adam and Eve what good and evil were. Then Cain killed his
brother, Abel, so this was an evil act. Cain took off and started begetting
with his woman, though we don't seem to know where he got her from, but that
is another story. The next thing we read is that about nine or ten
generations later the world was full of people. Some say a generation is
twenty five years, some say forty years. Let us take the latter. So, about
four hundred years later the people in the world were so wicked and evil and
beyond redemption that God Jehovah (according to the Bible) decided to save a
few people and drown the rest. The flood was supposed to have engulfed the
whole world and killed off every living soul and animal, etc., saving the few
who were in the In fact, we
could say that basic good and evil, as God sees it, was really not ratified
until the time of Moses. Some centuries later and it was here that good and
evil were defined to some degree and these were possibly some of the main
features that Man had agreed were beneficial to their growth. The guides tell
us that good and evil are energy forces created by thought energies that
humans project out into the physical ethers. So, positive and loving thoughts
create a force known as good. If this is true, then evil can be done away
with altogether if the inhabitants of this world wish it so, for evil will
have no power if all people give off love for others. It seems that
if we have an evil world, as so many proclaim, then it is the fault of the
humans who live in it, and this evil can only be dissipated or wiped out
when, and if, we decide it to be so. If this was the position of the world
once before the Great Flood of cleansing occurred, then we can expect some
similar thing to happen to our present civilisation.
In times past it is believed that God cleansed the world with water and in
this time period the cleansing could be by fire. With the threat of
thermo-nuclear explosion hanging over our heads, this is almost possible
right now. Some writers on
astral lore are inclined to believe that there is a whole army of evil beings
in the spirit realm that are waiting to pounce on those who stray from the
path of Light and Love. It is like the story of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. However, it appears that disembodied spirits who
seem to be involved in negative or destructive actions only draw their power
from living humans, and that thought forms and other similar creatures and
beings are only the product of Man's evil thoughts and desires being
transmitted out into the ethers just like radio waves. The same laws applies to the etheric and
that is that energy shapes matter, so much of this type of manifestation is
the creation of warped human thinking. Love, which
represents good, unites all the Universe and makes
the world go around. It is a powerful force that sublimes negative thinking
(evil). That is why good works cover a multitude of sins, as the Bible tells
us. So we must conclude that the only power that evil has is that which is
generated on the physical plane of existence. Some say that we need evil so
that we can demonstrate good against it. That is
just like saying that everyone needs to do a murder in one of their lifetimes
so that they can fully appreciate the horrors of such an act, but this is a
point of view to which we do not subscribe. Animals don't understand
what evil is and they live quite happily together and humans, in reality, are
also animals, so there is no need for us to dwell with evil around us just so
that we will appreciate what good is. Evil is often the product of envy,
lust, resentment, greed, vanity and apathy. So if one could attain a state of
internal purification where these things were intellectually expunged from
our personality, then God's kingdom could surely exist on the earth plane,
and this is the hope of the Age of Aquarius, where Man may be able to exist
in logic and reason combined with pure love where he may commune with the
'saints' up above in the ether realms. Now we can see some meaning to the statement which says, 'Cast your bread upon the waters and it will return with the tide.' So employing the law of 'like attracts like' , if you cast out good thoughts, then that will draw good people and good spirits towards you, but if you choose to do evil and cast out evil thoughts, then you will attract people and spirit on that same vibrational level. So we would conclude that there really is no evil power, only evil people. |
