Part 3

"Do you know where we going?" Nicky asked Luna as they stop to make camp after a day of walking. It's been a week since they left the city, which Nicky called home. They were now in an abandon field that was brunt to a crisp. The only reason they were there is because of a small creek that ran through it, but Nicky didn't like it there at least not that night. The clouds were touching the ground and they were so thick that you couldn't see the moon or the stars.

"Yes. I found this map on Jack," Luna said as she took out a small rolled up map from a small bag she brought with her. The map was very old and showed the world, as it was when Nikolas ruled it. It showed the capitol of his kingdom and the three towers that was arranged in a triangle around it. It also showed where the temples where the alters where the demons put the stones to protect the capitol. The towers lock in the demons and weaken them while the temples protect them and give them great power. That's why Xavier wants the stones to place them on the altar.

"But are we going the right way?"

"Yes."

"How do you know? You don't have a compass or anything."

"In the day the sun show me the way and at night the stars. You will get proof of it tomorrow morning."

"How?"

"The fog will be lifted and you would be able to see one of the towers. It should be an half a day walk from here."

"We're that close?"

"Yes, but now we must rest."

"Okay."

Nicky rolled out his sleeping bag and placed it on the ground. Luna just laid down a large blanket and slept on that.

"How can you just sleep on that? Don't you get cold?" Nicky asked.

"No," was her only replied as she turned over and fell asleep.

(

"Whoa," Nicky said as he looked up from the base of the tower, which was as high as some skyscrapers. Vines grew up its ancient stone walls and small little flowers were sprinkle in it. It was a sight that can take your breath away.

"Come on. If we're lucky, we reach the top by sunset," Luna told him as she entered the tower.

"There's an elevator right?" Nicky asked as he followed her in.

"What's an elevator?"

"Do you know how many stories up this thing is?"

"No clue. Just don't think about okay."

"I'll try."

They started up the spiral staircase that led to the top. Every now and again they will come across a door in the inner wall but they didn't stop at one even how much Nicky bragged and pleaded to. Luna found it pathetic. It took them a couple of hours to reach the top and when they did, the sun was about to set.

"Dude, I think I can see my house from here," Nicky said as he looked out a window.

"No you can't," Luna said as she walked to a stone pillar in the middle of the room.

"Take the fun out of it why don't ya."

"Whatever."

Luna started to knock all over the pillar. When she heard a hollow sound, she stopped and ripped a long piece from her dress off. Then she took out her knife and cut herself across her left hand. She took the ripped dress piece and let it soak up her blood that was dripping from her hand.

"What are you doing?" Nicky said as he ran to her.

"Demon blood gives strength," she replied as she lift the cloth that was stain red with blood from her hand.

"But why did you cut yourself?"

"You're see."

She licked right index finger and ran it down the cut. It magically closed and healed like nothing happened. She licked the blood off her finger before she wrapped the cloth around her right hand and then she punched through the wall of the pillar where it was hollow.

"The stone has to be place there," she said as she took of the cloth and threw it aside.

"Only a child of the moon can place the stone in there," an eighteen-year-old girl said as she climbed out of a small opening on the floor. She was a little petite thing that looked like a child's doll and very fragile. She had long light blonde hair and ghostly sky blue eyes. The only thing she was wearing was a short white sundress type deal and a plain gold tiara on her forehead that was decorated with no gems or cravings.

"Who are you?" Luna asked.

"I don't know."

"What do you mean you don't know?"

"I don't know."

"Okay... How about this, why are you here?"

"I don't know."

"Okay, how do you know only an elf can place the stone in there?"

"She said child of the moon," Nicky said as he walked towards them.

"An elf is the child of the moon," Luna replied, "Anyway how did you know that?"

"I don't know," the girl replied with a big smile on her innocent face.

"She's getting on my nerves," Luna said.

"Let me talk to her then," Nicky replied.

"Good luck trying. She will only say I don't know."

"It can't be that difficult. Sara plays this same game when she does something and I can always make her talk."

"This is not your sister."

"It's worth a try."

"Fine go ahead."

"Hello, my name is Nicky," he said to the girl.

"Hello Nicky," the girl replied.

"Can I ask what your name is?"

"I don't know my name. Master never told me."

"Who is this master?"

"I don't know. He never told me his name either."

"Okay. How did you get here?"

"I don't know. One day I was up there with master and next day I'm down here with no master."

"You're an angel aren't ya?"

"I don't know. Master just made me one day and he never told me what I was."

"She's not an angel," Luna said.

"And how do you know that?" Nicky asked as he turn around to see Luna.

"I could tell if she was. She will have a light around her, but she doesn't."

"Then what is she then?"

"Let me see," Luna replied as she walked up to the girl. She pushed back her hair and revealing two pointy elfish ears, "She's an elf."

"I'm an child of the moon?" the girl asked.

"It seems that way. Anyway there's a reason I came here."

"But you're a child of the darkness, you can't put the stone in there."

"I may be a child of the darkness but I'm also a child of the moon."

"You are?" the girl said in confusion, "But you can only be one or the other."

"Well I'm both."

"But you can't..."

"Just let it be, okay," Nicky told the girl.

"Okay," she replied with a big grin and then she hugged him, which took him by surprise but he hugged her back.

Luna was disgusted watching them hug and a bit jealous. She took out the red stone out of the pouch and kissed it.

"I hope this works," she said to herself as she placed her hand with the stone in the hole she made in the pillar. She closed her eyes and dropped it. Suddenly the tower started to shake, "What in the hell is happening?"

"We're going down," the girl said.

"What!" Nicky replied in shocked.

"We need to get out of here," Luna replied as she ran to a window and look down watching the ground come closer and closer.

"But how?" Nicky asked.

"The windows in this room are too small to get through and if I'm pretty sure that the entrance to the tower is already buried."

"So we're trap here."

"Seems that way."

"Shit!"

"Wait I think I know a way out."

"What?"

Luna looked around the room and found the blood soak dress piece she tore off on the floor. She ran to and picked it up. Then she wrapped it around her hand again and went to a wall.

"Great child of the moon gave me strength," she said as she got ready to punch down the wall. The first hit just made a dent in the wall, but she hit it again and again and again. With every punch she got stronger and soon often she made a decent size hole in the wall just big often for a person to get out of.

"And how will that help us?" Nicky asked.

"When we get close often to the ground, we'll jump," Luna replied.

"What! I'm not jumping off of this."

"It's the only way to get out."

"Can you like transform into your demon self and use your wings to flew us out of here?"

"No. It's not a full moon and I will have to use some storage power, which will just be a waste."

"But I'm not jumping!"

"Yes you are," Luna said as she pushed him out of the hole. It was only a couple of feet up so there was nothing to worry about. Then Luna took the girl pushed her out. The girl fall was broken by Nicky who was under her. Luna just stepped out because the hole was even with the ground by the time she went out.

"That was fun! Can we do it again?" the girl said as she got up.

"It was fun for you, but not me," Nicky said still lying on the ground.

"You didn't want to get trap in there did you?" Luna said as she was giving him her hand to help him up, which Nicky took it.

"No."

"Okay then."

"What are we going to do with her?" Nicky asked as he pointed to the girl who was playing around behind them.

"Leave her."

"We can't do that."

"Why can't we?"

"That's not nice."

"So?"

"Do you want someone to leave you?"

"If someone did, I will hunt them down and kill them," Luna replied and then she paused for a moment, "I see your point now. I guess she can come with us until we reach an town."

"Okay."

"Hey you," Luna yelled at the girl.

"Yes," she replied as she got up after falling from doing a cartwheel wrong.

"Come here."

"Okay," she said as she walked to them.

"You're coming with us."

"Okay."

"We need to give her a name, you know," Nicky said.

"How about Gloria?" Luna replied.

"Why Gloria?"

"That was my mother's name."

"Oh, okay."

"Your name is Gloria," Luna told the girl.

"My name is Gloria?" the girl replied.

"Yes."

"Okay."
