    Presentations and Teaching

  • Co-developed a certificate in Evidence-Based Nursing for the Jackson Hospital in Miami, Florida. (2005)
  • Presented papers on evidence-based practice and interprofessional collaboration at conferences in the US and Canada, co-poster presenter, research paper judge at the 2005 Southern Chapter of the MLA conference, guest lectured at a physical therapy course and a medical librarianship course, partially co-wrote and co-taught an 8-hour MLA CE course, wrote course materials and taught several classes for the public, and presented in-services while an occupational therapy student.
  • EBM Core Instructor for EBM501, Introduction to Evidence Based Medicine and Use of the Biomedical Literature, part of the Doctoring Course, a 2-year course in the medical school curriculum.   • Along with Pamela Sherwill-Navarro (University of Florida) and Joaquin Arriaga (University of Miami), led a Poolside Chat on Evidence-Based Medicine and Nursing at the annual meeting of the Southern Chapter of the Medical Library Association. (Oct. 12, 2003)
  • Took the class, Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers--it covered CPR and choking relief for adults, children, and infants and use of the automated external defibrillator (AED); certification good for one year. (Aug. 16, 2003)
