9th Committe Meeting--ANNUAL MEETING November 07, 2008 at 6pm
The meeting was called to order by President,Mike Broome 6:00 PM. Treasurer, Mary Stocker announced that we have $14,640.17 in our treasury. Leona Atkinson accepted this change in bookeeping duties and the Board voted to approve. Dave and Mike said they were discussing the skate park progress with David Hatcher, who will be our city's new mayor in January 2009. They asked him about the possiblity of using the lot at Kaybern and 16th as a skatepark. Van Dorn said they would be willing to donate concrete for a skatepark project. Mike and Dave discussed proposing a new location for a permanent skatepark at the next City Council meeting on November 17. Grants requests were sent out to: Tony Hawk Foundation Red Robin Foundation Leona is checking on the progress of those. RAFFLE Since we are now eligible to hold a raffle, we discussed having one before the Holidays. Leona will check with the Bank to see if they will display the crocheted afghan as a raffle item. Mike is checking on getting a 4-wheeler or car for the raffle.< We hope to have a raffle or silent auction before the Holidays. It was suggested that we might be able to get a booth at the Catholic Church Bazzar and sell gift baskets and have a raffle for the afghan. Mike will check on that possiblity. COOKBOOK Mike is checking on the Cookbook Sales at the North Plains Market, the Medical Center and the Bank. Displays have been set up at those places for book sales. CAN COLLECTION--BLUE BARRELS Can Collection is going well. $2,718.00 has been collected to date from can/bottle redemption. Many thanks go to Glen Warren for his dedication in collecting and redeeming the cans and bottles.
