  • Attended by: 6 committee members
  • Mike Broome
  • Dave Stocker
  • Leona Atkinson
  • Ruth Heckman
  • Brian Dormier
  • John Dormier

The meeting was called to order by President, Mike Broome at 7:00 PM.

The need for more Community involvement was discussed.
We are trying to come up with ideas to get more people involved especially the skaters.
Leona stated she has written a grant to Washington County requesting a donation and is also in the process of writing grants to Tony Hawk and Ford Family Foundation.
Dave stated that the equipment that was approved by the City for purchase went up in price to $26,000.00.
Leona asked about sending out donation letters to businesses and sponsors.
Mike Broome said it would be a good idea because there were still alot of businesses that had not donated.
Leona said she would print labels and draft a letter for mailing.
Some suggestions for possible future fundraisers were: Garage Sale, Car Wash, Cake Walk, and Raffle.
Mike said he would contact Hitchen Post Restaurant, Chevron, Rogue Pub and the Oil Change place for possible Raffle donations.
Ruth said she would contact Helvetia Pub and Dominos Pizza and Leona said she would contact the Salon here in town and Dave would go to the Golf Course.
It was suggested that we sell Raffle tickets for $1.00 each or a book of six for $5.00.
Mike said Steve Sheets would probably donate a Car Detail and Brian was going to talk with Zumiez to see if they would give him a discount on a complete skateboard package to be used as an incentive to gain participation from the skaters.
It was decided if all went well that we could maybe start selling tickets in May but at least 8 prizes would be needed.
CURRENT FUNDRAISING
FLOWER BULB FUNDRAISER
The flower bulb fundraiser had good results so far and Ruth said it looked like we had about $1000.00 in sales, which means we have netted about $500.00.
The selling ends this weekend March 15th.
PIZZA DAY FUNDRAISER
The Pizza Day went well at Geraldi's and we made $139.25.
Gus, the manager at Geraldi's said he had hoped for more but his sales were double that day from what they usually were.
He said he would be willing to do it again maybe in a couple of months.
COOKBOOK
Kathleen was not at the meeting so there was no further discussion on the Cookbook, but it is still hoped it will be ready to sell for the May Garage Sale.
CAN COLLECTION--BLUE BARRELS
It was discussed that we may have to discontinue collecting the cans as there is not enough help in doing this and Dave and Mike do not have the time to devote to it anymore.
