         Nepal is a country of great natural diversities. It is  a mountainous country lying between India and China on the southern slopes of the Himalayas. It has an area of 147,181 sq. km.  It is about 885 km from east to west and 145 to 241 km from north to south.

           It's latitude is 26⁰22' N to 30⁰27'N, longitude 80⁰4' E to 88012'E. Nepal is bounded in the north by Tibet, Autonomous Region of China, in the east by Sikkim and West Bengal of India and in the south and west by Bihar and Uttar Pradesh of India. It is a land-locked country, the nearest sea port to it is in Calcutta (India), 960 km away.
