Mission Statement The Latin American subcommittee shall act on matters related to the promotion of medical physics activities in Latin American countries. These activities may include training opportunities, dissemination of scientific, technical and professional information, and other functions designed to support the medical physics professionals in the region. |

Meetings The Latin American subcommittee will meet at the annual AAPM meeting and during RSNA. Participation All AAPM members who share the mission statement of the Latin American subcommittee are welcome to participate in the meetings. Organizations with an interest on Medical Physics in Latin America may send a representative to the Subcommittee meetings. Voting Members There will be 7 voting members. One voting member will serve as chair. The International Committee Affairs chair appoints the chair. Of these seven members, five will also serve as liaisons. Liaisons are voting members who represent different geographical areas within Latin America. The chair Appoints six of the voting members. These appointments are effective for 1 year and may be renewed for up to 3 years with the approval of all voting members. Membership will begin on the first day of the calendar year following appointment. Task Groups A task group will be formed when the need to perform specific activities is identified by the members of the subcommittee. The chair of the Subcommittee will appoint a Task group chair. Responsibilities
The Latin American Subcommittee should select and nominate those individuals who are practicing medical physicist in a Latin American country as recipient of the partners in Physics Program. This program is under the financial sponsorship of the AAPM. The nominations will be in recognition of present or expected contributions of the individuals to the development of Medical Physicist Latin America. Sponsorship are for a period of three (3) years and are renewable although it is expected that most will be for a single period. The chair of the Subcommittee will be responsible for:
