What I expect from my students:
1) Regular attendance is necessary.
2) Be in the classroom when class begins. You will be marked tardy if not in your seat at the start of class. Refer to your student handbook for the school's policy on tardiness.
3) Come to class prepared with your homework, paper and pencil. You will be alerted if you will need your workbook. Work completed in pen will not be graded.
4) Homework is assigned daily. No credit is given for late work.
5) Make-up work - It is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. You have one day plus the number of days you were absent to complete the work.
6) Honesty. Anyone caught cheating will receive a 0 for the assignment and will be referred to the office. Refer to your student handbook for the school's policy on cheating.
7) Proper classroom behavior is required. Raise your hand and wait to be called on. Do not interrupt or talk out of turn.
8) Courtesy and respect for each other and myself.
9) Extra credit is offered weekly.
Grades:
Student grades will be based on homework (50%) tests (35%) and quizzes (15%). Homework will be assigned daily and graded in class. Vocabulary words will be assigned on Monday and will appear on the homework quizzes. Extra credit will be available periodically. Grades will be assigned every 9 weeks based on the the number of points earned by the student divided by the total number of points possible. The grading scale is as follows:
