Enrollment has grown from 22,396 in 1985-86 Numbers of 12th Grade Graduates Completing all Courses Required for University of California (UC) or California State University (CSU) � 1999-00 Female = 933 (28.5%) Male = 850 (22.7%) Total = 1,783 (25.7%) Rank = 1st Asian (57.9%) 2nd = Filipino (45.4%) 3rd = White (40.2%) 4th = Pacific Islander (25.7%) Comment: The majority of PI high school graduate students are not completing the required CSU/UC courses. Dropout Rate 1999-00 1st = African American 4.6% 2nd = Hispanic 3.9% 3rd = American Indian 3.5% 4th = Pacific Islander 3.3% Comment:: PI students have the 4th highest state dropout rate. Number of English Language Learners (ELL) 2000-2001 Tongan (Rank 22nd) 1,877 students Samoan (Rank 23rd) 1,747 students Marshallese (Rank 53rd) 147 students Chamorro (Rank 55th) 71 students Comment: Samoans migrated to the US over 50 years ago, but still have a large number of ELL students.
