Exhaust.
I am in the process of saving for a full powerflow system with twin exits. To tide me over i fitted a Peco Big Bore 2 back bock. This can be bought for the mondeo so fitting is easy. I got mine from extreme for 96.00 including p & p. Just cut off the standard back box and the new pipe slides over the existing and hangs off the standard mounts.
Whilst the shiny new tail pipe may have looked better i was dissapointed with the sound. I could not hear it!
The only solution i could think of was that the dummy back box on the near side of the car was still baffling the noise too much. Removing this was a little trickier. I spoke to the local powerflow supplier and he measured, cut and bent me a bit of pipe to do the job for 5.00. As soon as i got home i jacked the car up and put it on axle stands (always do this as safety is paramount), took a deep breath, and cut the pipe in the middle of the short straight bit (before it turned towards the near side dummy box). The 96 degree bent pipe slid over the existing, joining the two sections back together. As i am getting a full powerflow system, i welded all the seams, as i wont be replacing standard parts again. Puka job and a deep exhaust note when you want it.
The car can still be very quiet on light throttle and comfotable motorway driving is possible. The deep roar develops between 2500rpm to 4800rpm on wide open throttle.

P.S. I will update these piccys as the suspension has been fitted and she is now slammed!
The above has now been replaced with a Sportex Twin exit system, with 3" round outward rolled tail pipes.
