You can find out how many prims you're using by touching (left clicking) the prim counter in the lobby of your apartment building. If you don't live in an apartment, you should have a prim counter in your home. It is located near the access panel. (If you do live in a multi unit apartment style building, the prim counter will only count the prims that YOU personally own. You'll need to get a count for your room mate(s), add them to your total, and use that number as the total number of prims in use.)

Your prim limit can be found by clicking on the info box outside of your door. This won't include any extra prims you may have leased. For information on extra prims, please see the how can I increase my prim limit? entry.

There are a few approaches to doing this. The most straightforward method is to lease on of the extra prim boxes or boat docks in Bora, Eastern Sun, Palmetto Harbor, Cherry Tree Hill, or Gaenari Shores. You do not have to use a boat to lease the boat dock. The prims can be applied toward your main lease. If you need a larger number of prims, you can have a secondary lease on another house or apartment in the same region as yours. The prims will be applied toward your main lease.

While it is possible to get good prim counts manually, prim counting manually is subject to several error points and is unreliable at best. It is quite possible that there are prims that you are missing in your count. Prims get stuck in walls, outside of your place, in the ground, and up high in the sky sometimes and are easily missed. Whenever possible, consult the automatic prim counter. It is generally very reliable. If you're still not satisfied with the prim count, a manager can be requested to do a search for missing/lost objects and verify that the prim counter is givng an accurate count.
