SPEED is a girl group as dance unit. It consists of four young girls : Takako Uehara,
Hitoe Arakaki, Shimabukuro Hiroko and Eriko Imai. All members are from the 
Okinawa actors' school in Naha City, Okinawa, Japan.
In 13 January 1996, their first times in T.V. program " The yoru mo hippare" on air. And
 "SPEED" going to be the name of this band. This is the begining of succes that they
receive.
      In 20 and 23 January 1996, SPEED first time to be guest in "TONKATSU" on radio 
and first appear in magazine name " UPIOBOY"
     In 5 August 1996, they released their debut single "Body & Soul" as a commercial 
song. This song was chosen as the theme of  the publish "NISSION Ciscom" that on 
air in June-August 1996. And their second single "Steady" was chosen as the theme of 
TV drama, and made big hit.
     Next 4 month, they receive the reward of new famous group in Japan. this is a very
good sign for their begining.
     In 1997, their third single "Go. Go. Heaven" went to No.1 on the Oricon chart. Then 
they released their first album "Starting Over" and perfomed in their first concert. And
then, they released their fourth single "Wake Me Up" and fifth single "White Love".
     Also, they appeared on some TV commercial with their hit song and the TV program
"The Yoru mo hippare" and the radio program "Hai SPEED de ikou" And at the same
time, they released their photographs taken by the famous photographer
"Tenmei Kanou" .
     They are very popular with young people. And they keep developing their 
activities as popular group.
In 30 March 2000, SPEED is break away. They give notice in the same of the 
first T.V. program that they appear in 1996 "The yoru mo hippare"
and In 31 March 2000, SPEED going to be history that we can not forgot forever.
