Book Preview:

It all begins when seven teenagers go to camp out at the bush.  They notice several jets flying towards town.  They get suspicious and decide to go back home.  When they get there, no one is home and all pets are deadThey see soldiers had invaded their town.

Rating:

The introduction was somewhat exciting because it talked about the teenagers going camping out in the bush. This part was interesting because they suddenly see several jets flying towards their town, Wirrawee.

It was interesting because they try to survive without being caught. In one part of the book, some of the teenagers get caught and one gets shot in the thigh while trying to escape. Sometimes there was a lot of action, like when they were getting chased by soldiers.

There were some parts I didn’t in the book. One is because the teenagers kept hiding and spying on the soldiers most of the time. I found these parts were making me think,"Should I go on?"

One of the reasons why I didn’t like the book is because the author only talked about one of the teenagers. I would want to know more about the other six teenagers. If the auhor talked about the rest of the teenagers I think it would be more interesting.

The author didn’t describe things in the book very well, which made it con fusing to follow. I found the part about them going out into the bush hard to understand because they didn’t explain the "bush" was like. That made some of the important parts in the book difficult to understand.

I liked the ending because the book ends, but the story doesn’t, which means it is a series. It also makes you want to read the next book because you want to find out what happens to the seven teenagers. [Mitchal]
