Title: Sixth Grade Sleepover

Author: Bunting, Eve

Book Preview:

Janey has a "secret" problem, and it's keeping her from going to a sleepover.  Her problem may not seem big to her friends, but to her it's HUGE!  Janey and her best friend come up with a plan.  Unfortunately, sometimes plans fail!

Rating:

This book had many exciting events. They are also surprising. It was sort of hard to pick a favorite, but there is one that tops all. It is when Janey feels something soaking wet and slimy when she lays down. It may not sound exciting because I left out a few details. Leaving the details in would give the book away.

The characters are also interesting. I liked how the author explained in detail every character, especially Janey. I also liked how the characters are like real people. They are scared to tell their secrets.

The book itself was very interesting. I think it should have been a little less for girls and a little more for boys. Boys, I’m sure, would not like to read about the cutest and nicest boys in Janey’s school!

The ending was okay. I thought it could have been a little more exciting and interesting, maybe even more surprising. The part before the ending was more exciting than the actual ending.

Last, but not least, the lesson to be learned: Tell people your problems and it may make you feel a little better! This lesson is very important, and many people should take it seriously. It helps. That’s a promise! [Kaity]
