Henry Ford Young Man with Ideas tells how a young man named Henry Ford grows up to be one of the most successful inventors in the world.  He was a boy with many questions about how different things worked.  He built tiny gadgets to steam engines for farm tractors.  See what other creations he makes and how it effects the world.

Rating:

I thought the description in the book was okay because it filled me in on his life and made it understandable. For example, when it told about his childhood, it said he asked a lot of questions. It also answered some of my questions about his life, like when he built his first car. The book left a lot of my questions unanswered, though. It did not say when he died or how old he was when he built his first car.

I liked the introduction because it told me about his family and that he always had a question about how things work. It answered some of the questions I had immediately. One of my questions was what life was like back then.

The characters are pretty boring in this book. Henry is probably the most exciting because you learn the most about him. I liked how he made things. His brother and sister are boring because they aren’t talked about a lot.

The ending was okay because it talked about Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum, but it didn’t even talk about when he died. It told a lot of information in the end about Greenfield Village, too quickly, which kind of made it confusing.

The book kept my interest because more exciting parts kept coming up, like when Henry built the Model T. Some parts I didn’t want to go on, though, like when he asked his mom questions. [Mitchal]
