Rating:

This book did not have very good description. It had terrible description in the beginning, but it gradually got better as the story progressed. In the end I think that the book had ok description, it was much, much better than the beginning though.

In the story there were some pretty exciting events, but I still think that they could be a lot more exciting. If an author has an exciting book with exciting ideas and events then it makes the book a lot better and easy to relate to.

I liked how organized this book was. It never jumped around and it stuck to the topic. It is very easy to follow and I never once was lost or confused.

I think this book had a terrible introduction. I almost stopped reading after the first page. I was so bored after the first chapter that I didn’t read the second chapter until the next day because I thought that it would be as boring as the first.

The ending of this book was very lame, it was not much more exciting than the beginning. I greatly disliked this whole book. This was probably the worst book I have ever read based on the introduction and ending. [Brad]

I think this book had great description because I could see a picture in my head when I was reading. The author told everything in great detail. The author explained things well, and that’s one of the reasons I liked this book.

It had a very interesting introduction because it told how Ella lived and how she got the gift from Lucinda. The introduction got me interested in what I was reading. It made me want to read more!

It had very exciting events because it kept my interest, and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. It was exciting when Lucinda turned a pumpkin into a coach for Ella to go to the ball! Also, while Ella was on her way to find Lucinda, anything and everything gets in her way.

I think it had very interesting characters because most of the characters were fairies, ogres, and knights, which made the book more interesting. I think this book could have been better if it was easier to understand. For example, the birds talked Gnomic instead of English, so you couldn’t tell what they were saying. I believe the birds spoke Gnomic so the readers could tell it was the birds talking instead of the people.

This book kept my interest from the very beginning because it had very exciting events. I couldn’t put the book down! It was a real page-turner. It kept me interested in what I was reading. [Missy]

I liked how this book had good details. That is what I liked about the book. It only sometimes kept my interest, but it did draw a picture in my head.

Also I liked the characters. The author explained how they looked and felt very well. Sometimes I could feel how the characters were feeling.

Everything in the beginning was introduced fairly quickly. If it just speed the process up; the beginning would have been better. But other than that the beginning was pretty good.

The events were good, but there were often too many of them. That is what I would have changed if I were the author. I think that the author didn’t change this because she wanted it to be exciting. I guess she didn’t know that she was being so exciting that it got tiring to read.

This book was a "Page Turner" some of the time. It got boring in some parts. If the author got rid of some of the events I think the book would have been much better. Such as when she made Ella made Ella leave the elves and all of a sudden some ogres captured her. This was a good event but it took to long after she left the elves. [Rachael]

I thought this book was ok because it had a bit of everything- romance, magic, adventure, and hope.

The characters were very well described which made it easier to understand this story. I also think it would have been better if she wrote this book from Ella’s point of view.

I was really expecting the book to be more exciting at the end. The story started to drag, and it lost my attention. After enjoying the rest of the book. The ending was disappointment.

This book had a really great introduction. It was really exciting. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

I think this book had so-so organization. The ending could have been more organized. Also the event jumped around a bit.

The lesson is this book is never stop trying. Nobody ever got anywhere with just giving up when something gets hard. [Amy]
