The Soap Prank

Kiriin walked calmly down to the stables, adding a slight pout when she walked in. She was supposed to get some saddle soap and handle the stirrups as part of a prank she and some of her friends were pulling, and she was doing her best not to appear like a sulky novice. The stable master frowned at her, no doubt wondering what a novice was doing in the stables just before dark. No one else would be taking out horses today, and all the horses were back in their stalls. Kiriin curtseyed carefully, still looking as if she would rather be somewhere else. She added a slight accent different from her normal Ebou Dari, just to confuse things even more if someone asked questions later.

"Pardon, but I have been assigned to shine the practice saddles that the Warders in Training, they use, yes? I were told to not distract them while they ride, see, and have been assigned to this, in hopes it teaches me the lesson, no?" The man looked her over and pointed, then walked away. Kiriin smiled, and walked over alone to where the man had pointed.

Kiriin started carefully, using the saddle soap to slick up the stirrups on one side of the room. It looked to the world that she was actually do her job, but carefully applied saddle soap made it hard to mount the horse without falling on your face. She made sure that would be the only time the rider would slip, though. She didn't want to hurt anyone, after all. After she finished, she removed several small bags from her boot. Delicately filing them with some of the saddle soap and then typing them off, Kiriin tucked them into various places about her person; boots, sleeves, and even her bodice when she couldn't figure out where to put the last one. Then she stood to go, glancing around to make sure no one was watching her before flouncing out, still looking like a novice angry at being punished. She would need to get back to her room quickly, to pass on the soap and give Tylora and Serenity the black clothed they would need.

Niella hated scrubbing floors, really hated it! But today was different. Every time she added soap to the water, she broke off a piece, and hid it in her pouch. she had been doing it for 3 days now, and all in all she had managed to sneak off with enough bits to make roughly 5 cakes of soap. all in perfect pieces for smearing onto something. this was going great.

Tylora wiped her face with the back of her hand "blood and bloody ashes" as she noticed soap suds on her face. She shaved a bit more soap off the bar she was using and continued washing dishes. She finished the dishes, then slowly and serenely she walked out of the kitchen, and to her room. She then fell asleep for about an hour, and upon waking, went to Kiriins room.

Kiriin, Neilla, Ankyra, Serenity, and Meliora were waiting on the beds, Smiggling. "We have all the soap we need now?" Tylora asked. "Kiriin and (Who's doing the saddles?) did you get the saddles??"

They all nodded. "Alright.. now it's time for the Practice weapon handles and the floors. Kiriin, did you bring the Black breeches and shirts?"

Tylora entered, and Kiriin smiled. They were all here now. Pulling back the covers, she pulled out the black garments and let the people who needed them change. She gave the soap to the people who needed it and put some in her own pouch. Then she cleared her throat and spoke.

"Saddles are done. It's late and dark enough no one is in the training yard or will see you. People who are doing doors, let's go. Remember if you get caught you were assigned to clean the floor and was just finishing up. I'll make a huge soap bubble in a few of the rooms and then slip out to meet the weapon handle people on their way back in. Alright, is everyone ready? Good let's move." Kiriin smiled as she spoke. This scene seemed so familiar to what she was used to in Ebou Dar, with the exception that this was a prank, not a scheme to break into someone's house. At their nods, they all slipped out silently, although Kiriin would bet some of the others were also trying to suppress giggles.

Meliora was the only one in the group not smiggling. However, that didn't mean she wasn't enjoying herself, she just never smiled, so the other girls had found out. She followed Kiriin out the door, not entirely sure where she was going. All she knew was that she was going to soap up the floors while her friend made bubbles. Light, what if they were caught. She guessed it was probably inevitable and too late...may as well finish it.

"why do we stick to WiTs?" niella asked. "what about some of the more obnoxious accepted? i for one would love to reap a bit of revenge on Ilora(NPC), she was assigned to watch me rake the paths in the gardens last week, and made me do it over 3 times, while lecturing me on proper humility!
would it be OK if I used some of this soap on the doorstep of her room? she likes to sleep late, and always come running out of her room when the breakfast bell strikes."
Niella looked at her fellow novices, hoping they would agree.

Tylora thought on that. "When me and Serenity come back from dipping the handles, we can Find and join you and we can all get the Accepted's quarters. And a few novices, as well, just to make things interesting? and maybe Rio's doorstep? And Sera's? And Maihgread's? I would like that." She smiggled almost uncontrollably "I hope *Smiggle* That we do *Smiggle* Not get caught *Smiggle* I can be *Smiggle* Quieter *Smiggle* once I need to *Smiggle* But this is so *Smiggle* Fun!"

Mel was worried what would happen if they started soaping everyone's doorsteps. "I think we should stick to WiT's and possibly a few of the Aes Sedai. If we carry on as we are, there'll be no question as to who pulled the prank...the only girls without soap on their doorsteps." She hoped the other girls wouldn't take her too seriously, she just wanted to instill some caution in them, not take away from the prank. "Unless..." Suddenly an idea came to her. "Let's put soap outside our own doors. We'll know it's there so we can be careful, and they'll have a harder time accusing us."

Ankyra, grabbed some a pile of clothes, and eventually found some that fit her, and threw the rest back on the bed for the others to put on. Ankyra was almost invisible in the dark, due to her chocolate complexion, and very dark brown hair.

Ank, followed Kirrin, and Mel out into the hall "I think I might be able to help with the bubbles, I have had a lot of training with weather on the raker, by our windfinder. We also will have to be carefully with the channeling, not near any Aes Sedei, I don't want to get caught."

The three reached the WiT rooms, only coming across three other people, two accepted and one Aes Sedei. Lucky each time they had managed to duck into an empty doorway, or nearby corridor.

When Ankyra saw a Warder walking across the corridor they were about to approach, she held her breath, and stopped moving, putting her arms out to warn the others in case they hadn't seen him.
"There is a warder in the corridor up ahead." Ank smiggled "I think it is time for ultimate sneakiness"
With that Ankyra layed down flat on her belly and started wriggling along. Not looking back to see if the others were copying or not. Ankyra reached the corridor, and looked both ways, to make sure the Warder was gone.

****
This was Ankyra's third door, she wondered how the others were going. Ank reached up and smeared some soap onto another door handle. Ankyra moved on and repeated the process to the rest of her assigned doors, smear the handle and then the floor.

Ank, sat at the end of the corridor waiting for Mel, Kiri, to turn up. It seemed like she was waiting forever for the two to return, but she knew it probably had been that long.
She was getting excited, hopefully Kirrin was going to teach her to make bubbles.

Crouching next to the door, Kiriin glanced at Ankyra. The Sea Folk had volunteered to help make bubbles, but that meant Kiriin would have to teach her first.

"Alright, just watch. If the way I do it looks odd, don't worry about it. I used it in Ebou Dar before I knew I was channeling, so I have to do it this way or I won't be able to at all," Kiriin told Ankya as she carefully placed the soap next to the door. Then she embraced saidar, only drawing a small amount. This trick required very little of the Power, but good dexterity. A bit of soap slid under the door as she channeled, then Kiriin sensed it blowing into a large bubble that drifted around, but didn't pop. It settled somewhere in the room. "You get that? Good. I'll do one more, then you can help. This doesn't leave a sign that the Power was used, unless you want it to drift. That way you have to tie the weave off, and we don't want to get caught. Well, let's go!"

Ankyra listened carefully to Kirrin, and watched her and she performed the weaves and tie it off. Ank, was pretty sure that she could do it, but would have to watch a second time just to make sure she would make a mistake.

It didn't take long for Ankyra to get the hang of making bubbles, it was just a matter of weaving air and water. Only a trickle of air mind you, or the bubble would float.
The first few bubbles Ankyra made popped softly as she made them to big or to thin.

Once all the rooms were done Ank sneaked back the way she had come. She saw no sign of Mel or Kirrin and as there was no commotion decided they had got away safe and sound. Ank quietly padded her way back to the novices quarters, only having to hide once, when a brown sister was walking down the corridor. Not that the brown sister would have noticed her anyway, she had her nose buried in a book.

Niella snuck around the corridors, with her scrapings of soap.
she was approaching the doorsteps of her least favorite accepted.
Silently she knelt, and rubbed a thin, invisible layer of soap on the doorstep.
!this will teach YOU humility!" She thought, before hurrying back to bed.

Tylora and Serenity Sneaked down to the training yards. They only had to hide once, when a brown walked by (Nose in a book!). They swiftly made their way to the Practice weapon rack and channeled fire into the soap to melt it a bit. Then they took the weapons and dipped them into the soap. Once all the weapons were done, Tylora smiggled quietly. "Is that all" Serenity asked her.
"Yes. That is all of them. Now lets see about soaping up novice doorways. Do we have enough soap?"
Serenity answered "Yes, we do"
"Good" Tylora smiggled quietly again.

They sneaked back to the novice quarters and began to help soap up all the doorways "Did we even get our own?" Tylora asked everybody.

Meliora had gotten separated from Kiriin and Ankyra, but not for long, luckily. It had given her just enough time to soap up some extra door handles and just outside of doors. She was guided back to the other girls by the feel of Saidar. Luckily, it was not enough that anyone would find it suspicious. When she finally reached them, she saw they were hardly suppressing their smiggles. "Are we done??"

Mistalyn slowly walked the hallway in the dim light. She couldn't believe an Aes Sedai had stopped her to copy what seemed to be an entire novel, and ink covered her hands, face, and dress where she had wiped.

Maybe the prank wasn't completely accomplished. As that thought came into her head, she saw Kiriin and her roomy Ankyra moving away from her on tiptoes through the nearest hallway. Before she could think about following them, she saw a Blue headed briskly toward where they where. She had to do something quickly before they were caught.

She curtsied hoping she would be noticed rather than ran over. "Excuse me, Aes Sedai, I know it's late but I was wondering where I could find a book on Talents." It was the first thing she could think of after the class earlier on the very topic.

Fortunately, the Aes Sedai glared at her smugly long enough to let the other girls escape before heading on her way with a remark that she didn't have time to deal with a dim-witted Novice.

It was the least she could do to help her fellow Novices. She rushed back to her room hoping to meet them there.

Breathing a sign of relief when Mistalyn distracted the Aes Sedai long enough for her small group to slip away, Kiriin peered around before speaking softly.

"I think we are done now. I don't know if Serenity and Tylora finished up yet, but we need to get back." Kiriin suited her own words by gliding down the hallway, not making a single sound as she moved. She had never imagined that her former training would be used in this fashion, but that didn't stop her from using it. A few times The slender woman had to dart down a different hallway to avoid footsteps she heard. The others seemed to be just following her lead at this point, and she didn't intend to let anyone be caught.

All the pranksters arrived back at Kiriin's room at the same time. They opened the door and went in, smiggling. They rehashed the pranking, and went to their own rooms, to wait for morning and all to discover their prank.
