| Steve's Favorite Airline is SOUTHWEST Yes, the airline has grown a lot since I first started flying on it in 2994, but there are many funny moments and the people still make me laugh.. Here are some reasons why I fly.... JOKES "Please notice the oxygen masks which could drop down in case of a loss of cabin pressure. If you are traveling with children, put your mask on first, then look around you and choose which of your children is your favorite... Sick humor! Very funny RAPID REWARDS The idea is that you can get a free ticket very quickly. After charging just 16,000 dollars on hte credit card linked to my Rapid Rewards account, I can get a free ticket. This is faster than many arilines. Also, there are fewer black out dates. Flexibility. Let's say that you want to go to Chicago from Fort Lauderadle. You call the special number on the Free Ticket voucher and you get the reservation. Let's say that yo planned to stay a week but then something requires that yo return early. You can call the special number, make an apo.ogy and the new reservation is found. It's remarkable. They can find you a seat if a seat exists... they are not obligated to put you on the next plane that goes out, just the first availble seat. NO CHANGE FEE when you use the rapid reqrds free ticket. You can apply for a credit card at 1800 792 0001 SO it is sometimes better to buy a ticket and fly on a ticket than to use a free ticket when there is a typical good weather. This is when I like to use a Rapid Reward...free ticket One of my colleagues needed to go to a funeral... with just one day's notice. If she bought a ticket, it would be $800. Wow. That was WITH the funeral discount. So with a South west ticket, it was FREE and she could decide when and where to go because it was not a heavy time of year to travel. Another friend needed to travel quickly to Connecticut.... again, it was a quick trip, no planning available, and when he was up there, he needed to return quickly, sooner than planened. If he was with another program, the frequent flyer flight would be used up and the cost to change a ticket would be $75... But not with Southwest! WHEN IT'S BETTER TO BUY A TICKET: when the ticket is easily planned ahead of time, when there is time to buy a cheaper ticket, when the refundedable ticket is not expensive (if you buy ahead of time)... remember, Southwest lets you turn in the money on an unused ticket, but you must use the amount on the next ticket. ... at the price of the best available seat. Still, the free tickets with their quick change and flexible nature are really worth more than $900 each! Ask me some questions!
