We had a typically great coffee meet on Saturday. We met the Starbucks in Wintergreen Shopping Center, Rockville, MD with 5 Merks in attendance. Tom Rhinesmith drove in all the way from Richmond, Damien Alexander, David Lockhart, Ed Liejewski and myself, all in XRs. We kicked tires for over an hour on a beautiful Saturday morning, then headed over to Rockville Antique Car show. The show is held on the grounds of the old Glenview mansion and the setting was beautiful. I think it was one of the finest car shows I've ever attended. The sheer variety of cars on display was unbeliveable. There was something for everyone's interest including Porsches, Packard's, Mustangs, Cadillac's, Corvairs, Corvettes, Model T's, Lancia's, Volvos, Thunderbirds... I could go on and not get them all listed. As I was leaving the show, I last saw Dave Lockhart staring wistfully at a beautiful Italian signorina: a Cherry Red 1971 Fiat. I thought I heard Italians singing opera in the background...

We'll have to keep this show on our radar as an annual event for NOVAMOG. The pictures below are courtesy of Tom Rhinesmith |
