With the unusual cold weather No VA has been experiencing for the last two months, it was great to have crystal clear skies and temps in the low 30s for our coffee meet today. We had 10 merkheads gather for coffee and comraderie for three hours both inside and behind the Starbucks in Springfield, VA.
NOVAMOG welcomed two first timers this meet: Steve DuChene and Russ Adams. Steve attended in his 1980s Jaguar and Russ in a family owned since new 1988 XR. Our longtime member Greg Larsen is usually our most distance travelled winner but he was sidelined this meet with the flu so our long distance winner was Dick Pearson from down Warrenton, VA in his recently acquired 89 Scorpio.
We spent what seemed minutes but was really 1.5 hours inside Starbucks bench racing and drinking coffee and then at least that much time outside kicking tires. From the pictures you can tell we're not a very happy bunch unless we'er under the hoods of our Merkurs. |
