Zephyr Phoenixstarr

Name : Zephyr Phoenixstarr
Yahoo ID : Zephyr_Phoenixstarr
Age : 16
Race : Phoenix / Elf
Occupation : Thief

Description :

Zephyr stands 5'9''.  Her ears are pointed and just barely poke out of her hair, a dark grey color that flows to her elbows and that is streaked with the brightest of whites.  Her face is covered in the feathers of a phoenix, the orange and yellow hues striking.  She is able to make these feathers disappear, you might put it, when she wishes.  Her skin is a pale hue without them.  Zephyr's eyes are a rich blue color, and the whites of them are the same.  Where her pupils would be; instead, is a bright silver color, reminiscent of stars.  She is clothed in a hugging, dark blue dress, the color of waves at midnight.  The expression she wears is neither friendly nor hostile, but full of a sardonic mirth and mischievous.

History :

A child was born.  A child fated to bring either much Joy, or much Destruction to the city.  The Floating city, the city of Nobles, the city of the Clouds, the city of Wisdom.  Her name was to be Zephyr, the sacred name of the West Winds that blew throughout the City in the Sky.  She showed powers early on, was seen as a streak of Fire across the clear sky.  Her people did not know what to think of this Fire-child, the one who was so talked about in legends, the one with the face of Flames.  She was secluded, by herself often.  A trouble-maker was she, always able to get herself into mischief.  Snatching small items from the small stores, leaving fire tinged feathers every-which-way.  Her behavior led her to grow weary of the small city, the city of the Clouds.  Flew away did she, flew away to the land known as Ayenee.  Whether if mayhap she would've stayed, mayhap she would have brought Joy or Destruction to the city, the city of great Wisdom.  It is not known to this date what has came of this child, the child with the face of Flames and the eyes of the Ocean.  The Phoenix born.

The Phoenix

By feathers green, across Casbeen
The pilgrims track the Phoenix flown
By gems he strew'd in waste and wood,
And jewell'd plumes at random thrown

Till wandering far, by moon and star,
They stand beside the fruitful pyre,
Where breaking bright with sanguine light
The impulsive bird forgets his sire.

Those ashes shine like ruby wine,
Like bag of Tyrian murex split,
The claw, the jowl of the flying fowl
Are with the glorious anguish gilt.

So rare the light, so rich the sight,
Those pilgrim men, on profit bent,
Drop hands and eyes and merchandise,
And are with gazing most content.

"Now I will believe
That there are unicorns, that in Arabia
There is one tree, the phoenix' throne,
one phoenix at this hour reigning there."

(( A little Mythology about the Phoenix ))

The Phoenix bird symbolizes immortality and resurrection and life after death.  In ancient mythology, it is associated with the Sun God.
In ancient Egypt , the phoenix was a fabulous bird associated with the worship of the sun.  The phoenix was said to be as large as an eagle, with brilliant scarlet and gold plumage and a melodious cry.  Only one phoenix existed at any one time and it was very long lived, 500 years or less.  As its death approached, the phoenix fashioned a nest of aromatic boughs and spices, set it on fire, and was consumed in the flames.  From the pyre sprang a new phoenix which embalmed its predecessor's ashes in an egg of myrrh, flew with the ashes to the City of the Sun in Egypt, where it deposited them as a gift to the Sun God.
