History

Kiaran was a bright, happy child, always interested in learning everything and anything. She lived in a small town, and everyone there knew and loved the dark haired young beauty. She worked in her mom's herbal shop with dusting and sorting, among otehr odd jobs. Her family was never poor, they were always very happy. One day, when Kiaran was 10 years of age, a wandering sorcerer came to town. He was offering to teach anyone the ways of magic if they were willing to learn, and had a small amount of money to cover the teachings. Young Kiaran had long known that she was an enchantress, she worked only at night and did not tell a sould about it. She was very excited about the prospect of acutally being taught by someone, so went to ask her parents. They immediatly said, "Yes!" with a large smile, when their daughter queried them about it. The sorcerer, whoes name was Malithair, came to her house soon afterwards, teaching her magic and many other things as well. She trusted him from the start and soon told him of the powers she possessed.

After 10 years of studying with the sorcerer, Kiaran felt she knew all she wanted to know and that it was her time to leave and begin exploring the world. When she told Malithair, he became worried. He told her she couldn't go, she had to finish her studies. She argued that she was finished, that she felt she wanted to move on, but ended up staying for

she loved the sorcerer as a second father, and trusted him even more. Soon after, Malithair changed. He became quiet and reserved, and very strict in his teachings - reprimanding Kiaran often when she made a mistake. She soon realized something was up and told her parents, but they laughed it off and told her she was worrying about nothing. She insisted that they watch him so they believed her. They did so, and saw quickly how he had changed and made arrangements to dismiss him the next week. During one of her studies and after constant punishments for making mistakes, Kiaran stool up and staretd walking away, shouting that she could not take it anymore -  she was tired of being punished for small things. She glanced back once as she was leaving to find the wizard glaring coldly back at her, and not making a move to stop her as she left. She didn't understand why somone she trusted so much could so suddely change. Kiaran stayed in the village for a few hours, talking to some of her friends and browsing through taverns and shops. After sunset she grew weary and started home, hoping the sorcerer might have cooled off some. When she turned the road, she saw her house ablaze in flames, and Malithair sitting at the end of the small dirt path that lead up to her front door, smiling.

She walked towards him slowly, her movements stiff. She wondered what the smile meant... Kiaran paused a few feet from him and he rose, then spoke, "Kiaran. My enchantress. It was for their own good, they were going to cancel your studies. I can't let that happen. I
NEED your powers, Kia." She grimiced at the old nickname.
"I need you. You need to train, train long and hard, then I'll let you visit your parents, the poor souls. Then.. I will be the strongest sorcerer ever known, and I will live on forever! Imagine." he laughed, a cold evil laugh, not seeming to be talking to her. Kiaran's eyes burned with hate, her power quickly rising up in her. She concentrated on a spell to cast a blade of light, a blade that she planned to lop off the evil man's head with. She muttered a few key words under her breath, her red eyes never leaving his own icy ones. She had almost finished the spell...

"No, no, my enchantress. I don't think so." He quickly put up a magical barrier, strong enough to ward off most any attacks dealing with magic. It was the type only trained eyes could see. Even though Kiaran could spot it quite clearly, she didn't stop concentrating on her spell. She fed all her anger and vengeance from her parents death, her sadness and disappointment of her friend that she had trusted so much betraying her. A long slender light shot out of the clenched fist she held in front of her, her knuckles turning white and on the verge of bleeding. Still she concentrated, still she fed her feelings, her emotions into the spell, intent on destroying the one who'd destroyed her parents. He stood behind his barrier, laughing at her, not caring or knowing of the power she was calling on and using. The light suddenly grew stronger and even larger, and when it was twice the size of her arm she ended her chanting with one last strong word, and with a furious cry and swift movement send the light beam towards Malithair's neck, dead on. A sound of glass breaking was heard as the spell shatered the magical barrier, then soon afterwards a muffled scream followed, indicating a direct hit. The sorcerer fell to the ground, clutching his neck, the blade only having passed halfway through. He held out a hand to Kiaran, but she just stared at it scornfully. He let out a raspy breath and said in almost a whisper, "Kiaran... you hold great power... you must... you must learn to control it, to harness it, or it will surely be the destruction of you and those you love..." with those words, his head flopped back onto the ground, and he died.

Kiaran stood there, thinking for a few minutes, only hearing the sound of burning wood crackiling, and staring down at the pool of blood that was forming around the wizard. She turned on her heel and walked away from her house, the village - the town she had spent all of her happy life. She didn't look back once.

Kiaran keeps to herself now, not talking much and never trusting. She travels around, not looking for anything nor anyone to keep her company. She uses her powers occasionally, helping those who might need help, but never staying in one place too long. She hopes that she might be able to find a clan or guild to join, one that would help her learn to harness her power and energy, one that she could learn to trust. She has yet to find that guild, but will most likely change when she does.
