Is it important to you that there is not a barrier or security at your shows? I think people appreciate it.

We really try hard not to have barriers in place at our shows if we can get away with it. Our feeling is that if you are vocal with the crowd and let them know that they are in control of the atmosphere of the show, they can take care of themselves. And over the years it has become pretty obvious to us that more often than not the security cause more problems than they solve. Nowhere has this been proven more true than at our last Dublin show, the security in that club were complete fucking morons they were totally not there to work for the benefit of the crowd which was ultimately what their role should be. I mean they were walking across the stage during the gig to serve each other drinks and sandwiches, grandstanding like Baywatch lifeguards - it was insane! Kicking them of the stage was enormously satisfying I must admit. From then on the gig got like 100 times better.

Finally, what stuff do you have planned for the next year or so?

Right now we are practising a lot to write new songs and recording demos over at our bassist Joes house. In the fall we will probably be doing a four or five week European tour as well as some scattered European dates off and on throughout the rest of the year. We dont normally plan too much further ahead so well see how things pan out. The future is more or less on the unwritten side of things, which is how we like it

Thank you very much Guy.

They are now: just released the incredible "The Arguement" LP and still one of the best bands in the world.
