New Year
(3/1/2001)
This is a very nice new year. I’ve never experiences such mixture of
peace and happiness for a long long time.
The duties never left me – school application things, senior recital,
heavy course works, and baptism preparatory course, my friends, my family… But I now won’t term them as problems
as I know where to go.
I’m
glad that I can meet friends in this holiday, sharing their thoughts, listening
to their problems, giving them supports, having fun times with them… I spent more time with my family too,
relatively to the times during the semester of course. I can also read whatever I like, and
practice as usual. Oh, I really
miss my holiday, which its ending is coming…
This
semester should be a challenging one.
I still have to take 17 credits in my last semester in university, which
I didn’t quite expect before.
Luckily that there’re only two courses, both are non-music courses,
which require academic studying, others are some practical stuffs which I like
most –
Choral training (choir) 1 credit
Orchestral training (orchestra) 1
Conducting 3
Senior Recital
3
German literature appreciation 3
Chinese society (general education) 3
My
senior recital program… Honestly,
really a ‘mission impossible’ to me.
Due to many reasons, including ‘I don’t want to do the old pieces again’
and more, these are the pieces –
Dvorak Four
Romantic Pieces
Wieneivsky Legend
Wieneivsky Polonaise
The Dvorak is a
very light and sweet piece.
Beethoven and the Legend are ok.
But the Polonaise is… Anyway,
I virtually have no choice. I
can’t start working on my recital program yet for my audition tape is still in
process. Please pray for my
strength for practicing and wisdom in understanding music.
The
most treasurable thing in this semester is everything I’m going to do is what I
want to do. And as all the
committee administrations are off, I feel so free now. Life will never be less busy, well,
surly be harder, but it’s really a great blessing when I have the chance to
choose what to do.
