Conditional Sentences

 


    1-Conditional sentences (TYPE I)
        Conditional sentences type one is a structure used for talking about possibilities in the present or in the future.
        Type I: If + S + Present Simple / Simple Future sentences

        Examples:
        1-If you come early, I will see you.
        2-We will go to the park, if it is sunny.

 


    2-Conditional sentences (TYPE II)
        Conditional sentences (type 2) is a structure used for talking about unreal situations in the present or in the future.
        Type II: If  + S + Past Simple / S + ( Would or Should ) + base form verb

        Examples
        1- If I were you, I would do my best.
        2- If I knew his number, I would phone him.

 


    3-Conditional sentences (TYPE III)
   
Conditional sentences (type 3) is a structure used for talking about unreal situations in the past .

     In other words, it is used to talk about things  which did not happen in the past.
        Type III: If  + S + Had + Past Participle / S + Would Have/or/should have + Past Participle

        Examples
        1- If I had gone to the party last night, I would have met lots of people.
        2- If I had been Hungry, I would have eaten something.
