ASCII :(American Standard Code for Information Interchange) One of the standard forms for representing characters. Files can be transferred over the internet in this format, for example, text files and HTML files. Image files will generally be transferred in Binary mode.
Binary : An alternative to ASCII when uploading files, useful for Images, not so good for text or HTML files.
Browser : Program used to surf the World Wide Web - EG: Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator...
Downloading/Uploading : When I copy a file from my computer to a server, I am uploading that file. When I copy a file from the server to my computer, I am downloading that file.
FAQ : Frequently Asked Question.
Freeware : Software that is free to install and use.
GIF : Image file format, good for logos.
IP address : A numeric address that uniquely identifies a computer on the Internet.
Virus : Very nasty and possibly hiding in downloadable programs or files.
