27.09.2001 PANTHERS LET 3-1 LEAD SLIP
Nottingham Panthers have drawn 3-3 at the M.E.N. Arena against the Storm tonight, Despite leading 3-1 with only 15 minutes to go.
The Panthers took the lead after 6 minutes thanks to P.C. Drouin (PPG)assisted by Carlsson and Savoie. The Panthers then increased their lead in the second period thanks to Barry Nieckar's second of the season. The Panthers would take this two goal lead into the third period.
The Storm finally scored after nearly two minutes of the third through Mark Bultje. However, within two minutes the Panthers had increased their lead again this time through Jimmy Drolet assisted by Lee Jinman and Ashley Tait. But the Storm hit back two minutes later thanks to Parrish and it was Parrish who tied the game with two minutes to go.
The Panthers must surley look at this as a point dropped and not a point gained. That said the Panthers seem to be a much better team on the road this season. |

25.09.2001 PASI HAKKINEN IS NEW NETMINDER!!
Nottingham Panthers have signed Finnish Elite league netminder Pasi Hakkinen.
The 24-year-old has played at the highest level in Scandanavia and is seen as a real prospect for the future. Pasi has been with the SaiPa Lappeenranta organisation for the past nine years, coming through the junior ranks through to the first team. |

24.09.2001 NETMINDER ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW
The Nottingham Panthers will announce their new netminder tomorrow, they are just waiting for one more signature before completing the deal.
The Netminder is from Finland where he has played in the elitie league for the last 4 years. It is hoped that the deal will be completed in time and he will be part of the squad on Thursday night in Manchester. |

24.09.2001 INJURIES LATEST
Randall Weber is doubtful for Thursday's trip to Manchester due to an injury picked up against Bracknell. He completed the game in alot of pain. Lee Jinman will skate before thursday and if there is no problems he will play in Manchester. |

22.09.2001 SECOND HOME LOSS
The Nottingham Panthers lost their second home game running following a 3-2 loss to the Bracknell Bees on Saturday Night.
Despite leading 2-1 at the end of the first period thanks to goals from Tait and Nieckar, the Panthers were unable to maintain the pressure on Bracknell. The Bees goals were scored by Scott (PP), Cadotte and McBain. |

20.09.2001 POOR BELFAST RECORD CONTINUES
The Nottingham Panthers poor record in Belfast continues following tonights 4-2 defeat. The Panthers are yet to win in Belfast.
Patrik Wallenberg got both Panthers goals, his decond was assisted by Randall Weber and Barry Nieckar. Riehl, Hoad, Berens and Schulte all scored for the Giants. |

16.09.2001 PANTHERS WIN AWAY!!!!!!
The Nottingham Panthers recorded their first away win of the season Sunday Night by beating the Manchester Storm 1-0 at the M.E.N Arena.
The only goal of the game came at 43:56 from Darren Maloney (2 goals in 2 games). Danny Lorenz recorded his first shut out as a Panthers stopping 25 shots. The game finished with a fight between Storm's Paul Ferone and Panthers Frank Evans.
The Panthers will be hoping to make it two wins on the road when they travel to Belfast on Thursday. |

15.09.2001 N.I.C SAYS SORRY
OFFICIALS from the National Ice Centre and the Panthers were today in discussions over the ticket allocation problems on Saturday that left hundreds of fans queuing outside in the rain after the game with Ayr had started.
NIC chairman Mich Stevenson said: "We cannot apologise enough for the situation. It turned out to be a logistical and public relations nightmare and I can assure the fans it will not happen again. "We asked for the game to be delayed to allow all the fans to be processed, but this request was not acceded to."
Panthers chairman Neil Black said: "It was very unfortunate but the situation was forced upon us by the dreadful happenings in America. "Quite simply we were told that the legal requirement was for everyone to be offered a refund on the Sheffield ticket and provided with a new one for the Ayr game. Logistically, it wasn't as easy as that." |

15.09.2001 PANTHERS LOSE AGAIN!!
The Panthers unbeaten home run came to an end Saturday night following a 4-3 loss to the Ayr Scottish Eagles.
P.C. Drouin (his first of the season), Greg Hadden and Darren Maloney (his first of the season) scored for the Panthers, Goals from Ed Courtenay (3) and Dino Bauba secured victory for the Eagles.
The game was not helped by some awful decisions by referee Andy Carson, Surley the ISL have to do something about the standard of officials. |

13.09.2001 UNBEATEN RUN ENDS
The Panthers unbeaten run came to an end tonight in London. The Panthers playing their first away game of the season lost 3-1. Claude Savoie scored for the Panthers, while Roenick, Sacratini and Mansi (PP) scored for the Knights. The Win takes London back to the top of the Superleague table with Ayr Scottish Eagles in second, The Panthers are third with 4 points.
The Panthers will be looking to change their awful away record on Sunday in Manchester. The Panthers have struggled away from home for the past 2 seasons. On Saturday the Panthers will be hoping to keep their unbeaten home record going when they face 2nd placed team the Ayr Scottish Eagles at the N.I.C (Face Off 7pm). |

12.09.2001 SEARCH FOR SECOND NETMINDER GOES ON!!
Christain Bronsard will NOT be joining the Nottingham Panthers.
Bronsard has been refused a work permit by the office in Sheffield. This is despite the Superleague, the Players Association and Hockey UK all saying he meets the required criteria.
The Panthers are in talks with a couple of new netminders and hope to announce a signing soon. |

8.09.2001 PANTHERS 4 v Belfast Giants 3
The Panthers continued their winning start to the season by beating the Belfast Giants 4-3 at the National Ice Centre on saturday evening.
The Goals scorers for the Panthers were Jimmy DROLET (his first as a panther), Patrik WALLENBERG (his first as a panther) Claude SAVOIE (his first as a panther) and Calle CARLSSON (his first since returning to the Panthers). The scorers for the Giants were Rod Stevens and Jason Ruff (2). |

8.09.2001 MAGLIARDITI SIGNS FOR AEROS (AHL)
Houston Aeros' General Manager Dave Barr announced on Thursday that the Aeros have signed goaltender Marc Magliarditi.
Magliarditi, 25, played the majority of last season at Florida (ECHL) where he compiled a 16-6-2 record, with a 2.70 GAA in 26 appearances with the Everblades. In 17 games with Cincinnati (IHL), he posted a 6-6-3 record, with a 3.22 GAA in his second season with the Cyclones.
This will be Magliarditi's fifth pro season, first in the AHL. Having spent all of his pro career in either the ECHL or IHL, he posted a pro career best 32-10-3 record in 1998-99 with Florida, with a 2.27 GAA, .914 SVS%, including five shutouts in 47 starts. |

6.09.2001 PAEK SIGNS FOR ANCHORAGE (WCHL)
The Anchorage Aces are pleased to announce their first defensive signing for the upcoming WCHL season. The Aces have come to terms with former NHL defenseman Jim Paek.
Paek, a 6-foot-1, 195 pound defenseman originally from Seoul, South Korea, spent last season with the Nottingham Panthers of the British Elite Hockey League. He spent five seasons (217 games) in the NHL with the Ottawa Senators, L.A. Kings and the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he was part of two Stanley Cup winning teams during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. Paek also played for Team Canada during the 1990-91 season, and in the International Hockey League, where he won Turner Cup Championships with the Houston Aeros and Cleveland Lumberjacks. |

5.09.2001 POIRIER IS NEW CAPTAIN
The Nottingham Panthers have named Joel Poirier as the club captain.
The fiesty forward joined the club in the summer from Newcastle and has a wealth of experience wearing the "C".

5.09.2001 BRONSARD IS NEW GOALIE
Nottingham Panthers have boosted their squad with the addition of former Team Canada goalie Christian Bronsard.
The 23-year-old already has a season with the Canadian National Team under his belt, along with a year in the IHL at Manitoba, a year in the AHL with Syracuse and last year he had a spell with Tallahassee in the East Coast before moving back to the AHL with Quebec.
"Christian averaged two-and-a-half goals a game with the Canadian National Team, around the same in the coast and slightly less in the IHL. He averaged just over three goals a game in the AHL so his numbers are impressive," said Panthers general manager Gary Moran, who added, "At Syracuse he even chipped in with a goal and five assists!" |
