Jinman won by 35% of the vote from Patrik Wallenberg who came second with 22% and Darren Maloney who finished third with 9% of the vote.

However, Anchorage are having a bad season as they are bottom of the northern divison with only 12 points and 5 wins, which see's them 10 points behind the other 3 teams. Paek is having an indifferent season his stats show a good return of 1+15 for 16 points but he currently has a +/- rating of -6.

Marty Flichel
Marty Flichel and Ex-knight Claude Jutras both scored as they helped the Tacoma Sabercats beat Long Beach 5-3.

Jarret Zukiwsky
Jarret scored the game winner for Corpus Christi beat Bossier-Shrvpt 4-3. Since joining the IceRays, Zukiwsky stats are as follows 3+2 for 5 points a +/- rating of +1 and 12 PIM from 9 games played.

Following on from the good perforamce in Belfast on Wednesday, the Panthers tried to take the game to Ayr early on and although the Eagles hit a post and missed an empty goal, it was the Eagles netminder Gage who was the busiest of the netminders stopping 13 shots as the first period ended 0-0.

The first period also saw Clayton Norris give Cam Bristow a good hiding after it appeared Bristow had hit Jimmy Drolet with a high stick. However, Kirkham saw fit to give 2+2 for Roughing despite it being a fight which should have been a 5 minute major penalty. He also gave an additional two to Norris for Unsportsmanlike Conduct but no penalty to Bristow for his hit on Drolet.

The second continued to be a tight affair until the Panthers took yet more bench penalties, firstly for having Too Many Men at 32:25 which gave the Eagles a powerplay which took them just 38 seconds to convert thanks to Dino Bauba at the back post after good work from Dody Wood. The Panthers then took a bench minor for Unsportsmanlike Conduct only this time they managed to kill the penalty and trail by just 1 goal to nil at the end of the second.

The Panthers continued to create chances in the third but it took a penalty to Ayr's goalscorer Dino Bauba to get them back into the game. After good work by Jinman down low, he laid the puck to Moria who took his time before putting the puck into the path of P.C. Drouin to fire home from close range at 48:59. The Panthers were then handed another powerplay chance at 51:53 following a Slashing call on Rhett Gordon and they gladly took the chance as Steve Moria fired into the roof of the net at 52:40 following good work by Drolet and Drouin. The Panthers then handed Ayr a chance after Poirier went for Slashing at 57:20 but the Panthers held firm to secure their first win against Ayr in nine attempts.

Tonights game saw a good hard working performance from the Panthers who deserved the win as Joaquin Gage was outstanding for the Eagles but they are going to have to learn to stop taking bench minor penalties.

In other Superleague action tonight the Sheffield Steelers also returned to winning ways as they beat bottom side the Manchester Storm at the M.E.N Arena. The winner coming courtesy of Ex-Panther and Manchester Storm defencman Jeff Sebastian. Next Saturday see's the Panthers and the Steelers clash for the first of four games scheduled for the month of December, here's hoping to 2 more points next Saturday.

Fixture Changes
The Panthers have today announced two more changes to their fixture list, the games affected are away to the Manchester Storm and the Belfast Giants the changes are as follows:-

17-2-2002 @ Manchester Strom now to be played Saturday January 5th 2002
10-1-2002 @ Belfast Giants now to be played Saturday March 2nd 2002.

I know other like myself were intrested to find out where Jarret ended up playing, well tonight I have found the following press report following his signing for Corpus Christi Ice Rays of the Central Hockey League (CHL).

The Corpus Christi IceRays of the Central Hockey League announce the signing of forwards Layne Roland, Ryan Davis and Jarret Zukiwsky. Zukiwsky spent the last two seasons of this six-year career with Anchorage in the West Coast Hockey League. Used both as a forward and defenseman, he had seven goals and 18 assists last year for the Aces. Since joining the IceRays on the 8th November 2001, Zukiwsky has played 3 games scoring 2+2 for 4 points with no penalty minutes.

Jordan Willis
Willis won his third game of the season to give him a 3-3 record after he stopped 37 shots Thursday night to lead the Roanoke Express to a 3-1 victory over Greensboro at the Roanoke Civic Center.

The Panthers started poorly and found themselves 3-0 down at the end of the first period, although their was some controversy concerning Belfast 3rd goal as the Panthers thought it was scored after the hooter had sounded however linesman Pirry ruled it to be a good goal. All 3 goals for Belfast came from Todd Kelman. The Giants made it 4-0 with just 3 minutes gone in the 2nd as Sean Berens fired home on the powerplay.

At 25:49, Calle Carlsson started the Panthers come back as he fired home on the powerplay before Barry Nieckar smuggled home his third of the season before Patrik Wallenberg brought the Panthers within 1. Wallenberg tied the game at 49:52, only for the Panthers to relax and allow Bowen to net the winner less than 2 minutes later.

The performance tonight was much better than Saturday, especially with leading scorers Hadden and Savoie missing from the line-up. I Understand that Clayton Norris had a really good game playing forward tonight in their absence but Lee Jinman was voted man of the match.

The ISL Disciplinary Committee have reached the following outcome following a review of the video, the outcome is Claude Savoie has been awarded a Match Penalty and suspended for a total of 5 games for Checking from Behind, which was deemed both reckless and avoidable. Savoie has also been fined �250.

The incident was not witnessed by any of the on ice officials at the time. This is the second time that a Panthers player has been banned following a request by the London Knights to review the game tape. On the first occasion Clayton Norris was banned for 10 games which was later reduced to 7 games after an appeal from the Panthers.

The Ice Hockey Superleague claim they provided all its coaches and players with a player information pack containing the latest International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) instructions on all types of checking from behind and that it should not be tolerated.

The Panthers dominated the first ten minutes of the game but were never in the game for remaining 50 minutes as the Belfast Giants went on the rampage. The Giants levelled the game after 11 minutes thanks to Rod Stevens goal on the powerplay and took the lead 8 minutes later again on the powerplay with Colin Ward netting the first of his hat-trick.

The Giants put the game beyond doubt in the second period when they scored 3 goals in five minutes, Ward netted his second and the Giants third after 24:13 before grabbing his hat-trick at 27:20 leaving Ruff at 29:13 to complete the second period scoring and the Giants a 5-1 lead.

The Panthers changed netminder at the start of the third with Pasi Hakkinen taking over from Danny Lorenz. However, it was the Giants who continued the scoring as Jason Ruff grab his second of the night at 47:22. At 54:23 Norris and Sandwith were thrown out the game for fighting after Norris stepped in to protect P.C. Drouin who had just been hit in the back of the head by Sandwith. The Panthers then ran into penalty trouble in the last minute as Coach Paul Adey lost his temper, as the Panthers received two bench minor penalties for delaying the game which lead to Adey receiving a game misconduct penalty and Belfast scoring their 7th of the night as Todd Kelham fired home with 17 seconds to go.

The Panthers now have to re-group as their next game is in Belfast on Wednesday night where a much better performance will be needed. They will also be hoping that hot shot Greg Hadden will have recovered from his illness which made him pull out of tonights game just before warm-up.

Despite falling behind to a Vezio Sacratini goal after 15 minutes the Panthers managed to level the game within a minute as Claude Savoie scored his 7th of the season at the back post following good work by Lee Jinman. The score would stay level until the Panthers broke the deadlock on a man advantage late in the third period following a penalty to London's Ian McIntyre for Holding allowing Greg Hadden to score his 11th of the season.

During the Panthers 8-2 win, Greg scored his 10th goal of the season to give him 19 points and make him only the 5th player in Superleague history to record 200 Superleague points. On average he gets a point a game during his six seasons with the Nottingham Panthers. Well Done Greg.

The Panthers took the lead after only 3 minutes thanks to Claude Savoie's 7th of the season before Bracknell hit back to take the lead with two goals in two minutes, thanks to Mark Cadotte and their new signing Eric Bertrand.

The Panthers levelled the game on 8 minutes through Patrik Wallenberg and took the lead again on 18 minutes from Greg Hadden. The Panthers increased their lead after only 27 seconds of the 2nd period as Frank Evans scored his second goal of the season and they made it five as another Ex-Devil scored this time Moria for the second away game running to give the Panthers a 5-2 lead at the second interval.

During the second period the Panthers lost Barry Nieckar who was thrown out of the game after Cross Checking Mark Matier from Behind. Matier was knocked out cold on the ice, Nieckar received a five minute penalty and a Game misconduct. Lee Jinman made it six with 16 minutes to go before Drouin scored on the powerplay leaving Man of the Match Clayton Norris to become the third Ex-Devil to score as he wrapped up a very nice win for the Panthers with a minute to go.

The Panthers will be hoping to carry their new found goalscoring streak over to tuesday nights game against the London Knights at the N.I.C.

Chris joined the Panthers halfway through last season from Mississippi Sea Woves (ECHL) and would be more than welcome back in a Panthers Shirt this season.

NOTE:- Throughtout his superleague career Barry Nieckar has been labelled a goon. However, I don't think he has done anything as bad as London Knights defenceman Rob Donovan who was tonight thrown out of the game against the Manchester Storm for Headbutting.

Drouin is an All-Star Again!!!
The Panthers P.C. Drouin has been voted onto the ISL All-Star team to face Great Britain National team on December 14th in Nottingham. Drouin polled 26% of the votes and will line up alongside fellow forwards Ed Courtenay (Eagles) and Trevor Roenick (Knights), also voted to the starting line up was Ex-Panther Trevor Robins and defenceman Johan Silfwerplatz (Eagles) and Shane Johnson (Giants). Dave Whistle (Giants) will be the All-star Coach.

Coach Dave Whistle described P.C. Drouin as one of the best wingers in the Superleague. The full All-star team wilbe named next week.
