25.08.2001 Netminder Pair Complete with Magliarditi...
Panthers can today announce the signing of another top netminder in the shape of 6'0" Marc Magliarditi.
Marc is 26 years old and was a 6th round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1995. He joins Panthers from Florida where he won 16 out of 22 starts. (GAAv = 2.7) Prior to that he played for Cincinnati with six wins and four draws in 16 games. Panthers General Manager Gary Moran said "The coaching staff mentioned Marcs' name in the dressing room and there was a chorus of approval with players shouting out to sign him!"
"There have been a few technical hitches with the deal, but we have ironed them out and have now sent in the documents to apply for the work permit. As soon as that comes through we will get a flight confirmed and Marc will be in the line up." This signing means that the Panthers now have a netminding duo as strong as any other in the league and it can only be good for the team to have two players fighting it out for each start.
Director of Hockey Alex Dampier: "This signing could be crucial to our success...Once again it looked like a long shot for a time, but the management came through and pulled it out of the fire." |
