"Scottie and Sebby are both my type of players, they give you that effort every night, they are both committed Steelers, they both had several offers elsewhere but wanted to return to Sheffield, that says a lot about them as people as well as players. They both have agreed terms and we are presently getting the paperwork sorted out."

26.08.2001 Eisbaren Berlin 2 - London Knights 4
With London already crowned tournament champions they took to the ice against the polar bears in a match played more for pride as a victory would give them a played 3- won 3 whitewash.

With Dave Trofimenkoff getting his first start in Belfast, London proceeded to dominate the game. Goals from Sacratini, Barrie left the Knights 2 nil up at the end of the first session with Thornton nearly making it 3 right as the buzzer sounded.

The 2nd period continued in the same vein as the Knights pushed continually forward. A third goal from Manzi left Eisbaren in a void. The Berlin team finally got on the scoreboard at 36:10 with a surprising shorthanded goal. Pulling a second one back half way through the 3rd period they began to make a game of it. With 5 minutes to go, Ian McIntyre put the final nail in the coffin.

25.08.2001 Belfast Giants 2 - London Knights 3
The London Knights secured their place at the top of the tournament table with a game winning goal 12 seconds from the end to beat the Belfast Giants 2-3 at the Odyessey.

Knights opened the scoring in the first with goals from Steve Thornton, and Henrik Borner. They held that 0-2 lead for all of the first, but 3 minutes into the 2nd, the Giants marked the sheet with a shot from Todd Kelman who caught Trevor out of place. The Giants continued their scoring with a goal from Paxton Schulte.

Things held level most of the way through the third, with both teams taking penalites. However, with 12 seconds left to go a shot from Mansi, was tipped in by Rushforth over Mark Cavillin's leg and into the net.

Yesterday evening, the Giants beat Eisbaren Berlin 6-5 on penalties. Tonight Eisbaren take on Frankfurt. Tomorrow, London face Berlin, and Belfast face Frankfurt.

24.08.2001 London Knights 4 - Frankfurt Lions 2
London Knights opened the BT Together Belfast Ice Cup with a win over the Frankfurt Lions. Both teams wandered around each other in the first with the period ending 0-0.

Frankfurt were the first to record a goal on the game sheet, with London's Mike Ware replying within 2 minutes to tie the game. Mike slotted another one home almost taking the knights lead into the 3rd, but a Frankfurt PP goal (late in the 2nd) tied the game back at 2-2.

The third period saw the game return it it's second gear pace, yet it was London who managed to get on top, a feed from Trevor Roenick to Kolesar saw him slot home the Knights 3rd making it 3-2.

Frankfurt went on the power play in the last 3 minutes of the game, and with a minute of the penalty left, pulled their net minder to get the 6 on 4 advantage, but excellent net minding left them wanting a goal, and let Kim Ahlroos pick up the empty netter to make the final score 4-2 to the Knights. Mike Ware deservedly got the MOTM for the Knights.
