ME AND MY BELIEFS
My name is Silver MoonSerpent and I have always been interested in 'alternative' religion and things such as the paranormal, the occult and anything bizarre. Hope I'm not scaring you :). I have considered myself a Wiccan for the past year and feel very strongly about my beliefs, which I will now explain to you:

I follow the path of Celtic Wicca. This path takes many of its practices and beliefs from the ancient form of Celtic worship, which has been around for thousands of years and has even had influences on other religions (such as the beliefs of the Romans who took the goddess Epona from the Celtic religion).

I believe in the God of the sun and the Goddess of the moon. These spirits' separate characteristics are represented by several gods and goddesses of different names although I believe that they are one and the same. For example, Minerva is the goddess of prosperity and Brigid is the goddess of learning, healing and smithcraft. Although I may chose to worship these deities separately if I am working to achieve a specific goal, they are just different parts of the same goddess.

The God and the Goddess join together to make the Spirit, which is everything. The Spirit is in the Earth, stars, moons and in all of the universe, it is the one great power and is present in all of us.

Celtic Wicca puts emphasis on the practical side of the craft. I am particularly interested in the use of herbs as their medicinal properties are unknown by too many people. I also love to write and to make my own candles as I believe these activities enrich us and deepen our knowledge.

Another belief of mine is that knowledge is power. A bit of a cliche nowadays but it is so true. Ignorance equals laziness and the Lord and Lady (God and Goddess) wish us to make use of our time and exercise our minds. The more we know, the more powerful we are.
