| About Us: |
| The Darmstadt Performing Arts Center is truly one of a kind. Built in the thirties, it has undergone numerous changes and played many roles. At one time it was a live theatre, then a cinema, then an American movie theatre, then deserted, and now the Performing Arts Center, a spacious performance hall that we feel very lucky to have. |
| Our entire staff consists of two paid employees, making it near impossible to run a full-scale theatre program. But we get the job done...with volunteers! We rely on them for every event. They build, they clean, they act, they do whatever it takes to get our show ready, and we couldn't do it without the generous support from American soldiers, family members and all our German friends, in and around the Darmstadt community. |
| We try to do 5-7 productions per season, per calender year. Two of them are full scale musical productions, and we also try to fit concerts and guest performances between plays. We are the largest theatre in the USAREUR area, and are the only theatre not on a military base requiring id cards and sign-in procedures (although due to current events, you should bring it along just in case). Come by and check us out one day! |
