Chicago
This is one of a very few songs that I wrote a long time ago that survived long enough to make it to recording. This is based on a true story about a trip my wife and I took on a bus way back in 1975. We had a three hour layover in Chicago and made the most of our time taking in as much as we could. The cousin really did leave for Europe!

My spouse had a cousin
Cousin left for Europe
And the buildings were tall skyscrapers
So if you have a cousin
Lived in Chicago
Thought wed go and visit her one day
So we loaded on the bus
Two suitcases and us
And holy rollers, we were on our way
But, that dont matter much
Cause Chicago was sight to see
People in a hurry
Boy, did they scurry
Jumpin June bugs its too much to believe
Making an ant out of me
My spouse said, lets climb one
I said, never mind, Hon!
Goodness gracious, lets just leave the buildings be
Lives in Chicago
I hope you go and visit there some day
But, make sure your cousins home
Not in Budapest or Rome
And take your toothbrush, just in case you stay
