In My Fantasy Life
I wrote this song in January of 2006. The lyrics pretty much sum up how I wish things could be. The piano in this recording is performed by my wonderfully talented daughter, Katie.
In my fantasy life all my thoughts would be focused
In my fantasy life Id take pencil to paper
Chorus:
In my fantasy life the most beautiful voices
When I wanted to speak Id know just what to say
And whatever ties my tongue would be shuttered from my being
I would shape every phrase like a sculptor shapes clay
And the verses Id pen would put Shakespeare to shame
The rumors of my gift would spread across the nations
And in high and low places theyd all know my name
In my fantasy life, in my fantasy life
I would always have something to say
And the strength of my words would move people to action
And on Earth thered be peace every day
Would capture my words and turn them to song
And in every land and in every language
Both princes and paupers would all sing along
