| Dugout #319 bids a final farewell to Charles "Red" Merrifield, plank-owner in Dugout #319, Past Imperial Golden Rodent, and Dugout 319's Red-Eyed Gnawer. Red was a regular fixture at Trench Rat Rendezvous ever since Dugout #319's inception, which he helped orchestrate. He was totally devoted to the order, and to his Brother rats. He was always a saucy addition to any D.A.V. Department of Kentucky convention. We, his grieving comrades deplore our loss, all too aware of the sad fact that there will not be another Red. Our loss has made our own, inevitable answering of that "final muster" more bearable, since we know we will be re-united with comrades like Red.. |
