The Meat Hall |
| This late - Gothic hall (1501-1504) is now the Archeology museum. Origionally it was the only place in Antwerp where it was allowed to sell meat. The butcher's guild also had a chapel, a kitchen and a meeting room here. Special attention is put towards harpsichord building, one of Antwerps most important trades, but also the glass industry and trade. A has a large collection of paintings, drawings, jewelery, coins, weapons and other objects dating from as early times as the 16th century. In these last years the museum has especially been focusing on the history of Antwerp and it's people. |
