Cambridge MCR Football 2003/2004

RULES V1.1

1. The fixture list is compulsory. Any  postponed matches will result in either a walk over (5-0 win) for one team or, if neither team is to blame the match will be deemed void. If a match in the knockout stages is deemed void, the scheduled opposition in the next round will recieve a bye though to the following stage. If no pitch can be found for a game, please contact the other captains, and we should be able to arrange something. Only if all avenues have been investigated will it be possible for permission to postpone a match be given! If desperate the Leys School have a pitch, call John Foley on 01223 350846. Cost is about 35, not much between 22 people!

2. Matches may be played on either the Saturday or the Sunday of the designated weekends. The actual time is open to negotiation between the two captains, but will be dependent on pitch availability. In the event of a dispute a coin toss, for day/time of the match can be arranged, contact Joe ([email protected])

3. It is recommended that captains obtain the services of a qualified referee ([email protected]) This should reduce conflict, as hopefully the referee will be percieved as neutral. The cost (20) should be split between the teams. If not, typically each team provides a ref for one half of the game.

4.  Each team is also required to provide a linesman for each half. The lineman runs the line next to his own teams left back. If no linesman is provided it will be difficult to call tight offside decisions!
Linesmen must wear something over their team shirt, as must substitutes!

5. After each match, email the score to Joe ([email protected]) along with the names of goal-scorers.

6. During matches, we will be using the rolling substitutions rule. This means as many players can play as want to turn up, and those of us who would like a rest can take a break then return to the action. Substitutes must wear something over the top of their team shirts!

7. If there is any dispute that two captains cannot resolve between them, please contact Joe ([email protected]) in the first instance. Then if no resolution is reached, all the captains will be consulted.

8. Please bring to the attention of the other captains anything that you may think is wrong or unfair.

9. Please remember, the main reason this league exists is for all of us to have fun!
