There is a reason for the Manual 7 tag and the notnauto forum name. I have nothing against automatics, unless I have to drive one. I just hate people who think because I'm a chick that I drive an automatic. Not true. I dont even know how to drive one. Of course that is a joke but that is always what I say to those typical sales guys when I want to test drive a car and they want to offer me something in a "nice automatic"
8/10/01- Definitely the day I had been waiting for. I got to take my expensive piece of paper to the DMV and exchange it for another piece of paper and the bonus of a piece of cardboard.  This day was extremely strange. I walked into the DMV about 3pm and walked out at about 3:25pm.. The lady that waited on me was extremely nice and there was nothing wrong with any of the paper work.. Well they still have one step left. I got personalized tags....so lets see if they spell it right.
8/09/01- The day I had been waiting for ...well almost.. This is the day i got to exchange a check for a piece of paper.  This didnt exactly go the greatest either. Lets just say it took another get together to make this a done deal.
8/08/01- Chris calls me and tells me that the shop wants to keep the car overnight to make sure it is fixed. They did alot of this and alot of that... But think they found that it was all do the secondary injector ground..  On the way home from the shop Chris feels alot of play in the shifter. He was thinking "oh no, no the transmission" Come to find out it just needed the shifter bushing replaced. Which he had done  along with a new Shifter boot.  The car just didnt want to go to a new ower.
8/07/01- The exciting day of going to pick up my new car. When I was pulling into Chris' development, He was passing me in the car, saying he would be right back. When he rolled up in the driveway and parked the car, I proceeded to hand him the check. He told me I might want to hold on to that for awhile.. I was thinking "what is it illigal to do business in your driveway in Florida". He tells me that he just changed the sparkplug wires and now the car has no top end power... (Know what it is yet?) So he was gonna take it to his machanic the next day to get it fixed... Ok heres  where the very honest seller comes in to play. I would have never noticed this problem until and even if then, I was half way home. He could have taken my check and we both moved on with our lives.
In between these dates- It was looking like I might be leaning more towards getting an RX-7 then the  ACR Neon I had been working on . So... My condition of buying a 7 was it had to have a new(er) engine. 2nd would be it had to have a history with its owner and lastly I wanted an honest seller. Of course dont we all...The car has a newer engine in it.. Had about 25K on it.  Chris definitely has a history with it. He had owned it for 7 years. And as I would learn he was a very honest seller.
7/21/01- I test drove some Honda's . A CRX and Civic. Then I got a call from Chris Y. to come take his for a test drive.  Ok to be honest this wasnt the greatest experience in my life. And definitely not in Chris' . From this day all that plays in my head is Chris saying " Foot off the clutch , Foot on the gas. You're trying to move a 3000lbs car here."  Actually even with that said... I still had to have this car. I knew from the past that a 2nd gen was what was meant for me.
7/16/01- The day I was told my Neon was totaled. I had to think about what I was gonna do for a car at that point.  I started kicking around the idea of getting a POS Honda and saving alittle more money to get a nice 1st gen.
