A regretful tear,
from a guilty eye,
ran down a sorry cheek.
In the blink of an eye,
the whole world changed,
and there was nothing she could do.
Thoughts of fear,
despair,
and anger for herself.
Thoughts of her mother's disappointment,
her father's punishment,
and embarrassment in front of ones she never even met.
A single cent
without any sense
can quickly turn into danger.
Nothing can take you back,
to where you've been,
to change what you have done.
So, alas, we must live
with our haunting thoughts and punishments,
and above all-our regret.
