Chapter Eleven

Distracted

There came soft sounds like drips of water coming from nooks and crannies all around them. The sound of soft trickling water carried into the large water Aiden and Crystal were waiding into.

"Can I please take my blindfold off now?" Crystal insisted.

Aiden held Crystal's hand tightly as he lead the way. "No, you musn't see until we reach the area."

Finally, after much treading, Aiden walked up to Crystal and untied the blindfold. "Now, you may see." he said.

What surround the couple astounded Crystal. It was a dimly lit cave with massive delactites and a floor made of water. The cave was lit with what appeared to be faeries flying through the air.

Aiden gave Crystal a tender smiled and whispered, "Tilikuna tier na kana."

Slowly, the faeries began to circle the two leaving trails of light following them. The trails created a remarkable pattern that brightly shone.

"I am the only one that knows of this place," Aiden explained. "I have kept it a secret for many years to show the woman that I love and that one woman only."

Crystal's smile that she shown that day was like no other. It assured Aiden of his decision for taking her there.

"This place is by far the most beautiful place that I have encountered since I came here," Crystal said, looking up at the lattice work that the faeries created around them.

"I am glad you like it," Aiden said and leaned towards her a bit.

It was as if a force that either of them could control gently brought their lips together. They kissed. It was a kiss that was more passionate and more meaningful than even the kiss they shared at Moondrip.

As their lips came together the faeries began to shine colors. Each color morphing into another one. It looked as if the Aurora Borialis was dancing around them.

Crystal realized then, that there was no turning back. She belonged forever in that man's arms and she decided to forget about her world behind.

The two walked out of the caves hand in hand slowly. They did not exchange any words nor expressions. Their astoundment overcame them.

Aiden stopped suddenly. He saw something from the corner of his eye. It glinted faintly.

"You go on ahead and get the horses. I will catch up," Aiden said softly to Crystal.

With much curiosity, Aiden ran to the area where he saw the shiny object and on the ground, to his surprise he saw a diamond. It was perfectly cut and reflected every light that shone through the caves. It was absolutely outstanding!

He picked up and examined the find. There could be no other and therefore, he must keep it.

Aiden pocketed the diamond and ran to catch up with Crystal.
