[scene opens: Shannon and Nicole are standing outside of a house with backpacks on. They seem to 
have just gotten there and are about to knock on the door.]
Nicole: Do you think they're really up to this?
Shannon: We'll never know unless we try.
Nicole: Alright. Do you wanna knock or should I do it?
Shannon: Go right ahead. (she looks around nervously as Nicole knocks on the door)
[suddenly, the door bursts open and we are greeted by Amber, the overly excited, video game addict, 
with an anime collection to put most Japanese to shame. Behind her, sitting on chairs, a couch, the
 floor, and even standing are the Gundam boys.]
Amber: Hey guys! Glad you could make it. Come on in and sit down. We were just about to introduce 
the characters.
Shannon:(referring to the boys) Did you help them with their stats?
Amber: Sure did. Don't worry, everything is taken care of. Just sit down and we can get started.
[Shannon and Nicole seat themselves on the floor by Quatre, who is reading over a sheet of paper 
and eyeing several different sided dice by his feet. They take out their dice bags, character sheets, 
and pencils and turn their attention to Amber]
Amber: Okay everyone. Since this is my first time DMing and your first time playing, I think we should 
start with something simple-(she stops when she notices Quatre has raised his hand) Yes Quatre?
Quatre: What's a DM?
Amber:(sweatdrop) Well Quatre, a DM is the person in charge of the adventure. I make up the 
storyline or whatever that you guys play. You understand?
Shannon: She tells us what's there and introduces the plot through NPCs and such.
Wufei: NPCs?
Amber: ::sigh:: NPC means "non-player character." Those are characters that I control, rather than you 
guys' characters. Now, can we begin? [all nod] Ok then. A High Preist of Hierronius is recruiting 
people to help find a missing party of preists, who were on their way to a neighboring city to deliver a 
powerful magic weapon to the High Preist there. You all have applied for the job. Thinking this to be a 
dangerous adventure, the High Preist insists that you all work together. You are all meeting for the 
first time now in a pub in the city. Now why don't you all introduce yourselves. Quatre, you start.
Quatre: My name is (he squints at the paper, clearly having trouble reading his own writing) 
N-na-nathan! I'm a preist of Hierronius, and I'm a Human.
Shannon: My name is Cecilia, and I'm a halfling bard.
Nicole: I'm Clara, and I'm also a halfling bard. In fact, I'm her sister (points to Shannon who gives a 
thumbs up sign to Amber).
Duo: Interesting. Well I'm an illusionist named Rick. Oh yeah, and I'm a gnome.
Trowa: My name is Link (Shannon, Nicole, and Amber stifle giggles). What?
Amber: Link's the name of a video game character.
Trowa: Yeah, I knew that. So what?
Amber: Never mind. Continue.
Trowa: Alright. Im an elven archer. I also have a horse named Epona. (The three girls are about to 
say something, but decide against it)
Heero: My character's name is Kent, and he's a human Paladin.
Wufei: I'm an elven monk named Wufei. 
Duo: Real original.
Wufei: Shut up Maxwell.
Duo: Geez, touchy.
Amber: Well, now that we have all been introduced we can start. Do you guys have anything you want 
to say to each other?
Wufei: Yeah, can I cut Rick's head off before I head off on my own to find the missing Priests, who are 
all probably dead, and find this incredibly powerful object that could probably bring about the 
destruction of the entire universe as we know it if it were to fall into the wrong hands, which just 
happen to be those of an incredibly powerful magic user with a grudge against our high-priest person 
who chopped off one of his limbs in a battle because he changed sides and betrayed the entire 
army of good-guys for money.
Amber, Shannon, Nicole: ::blink blink:: ::sweatdrops::
Amber: I take it you've role-played before.
Wufei: No, I just know every single plot line known to man. (everyone stares at him blankly) I read a 
lot.
Amber: Umm....maybe we should try something else. (throws out her notes and thinks for a moment) 
Okay...you are suddenly all approached by-
Wufei: An extremely large man covered from head to toe in menacing dragon tatoos.
Amber: An old female halfling mage. (Wufei blinks a couple times and sits down on the couch by 
Trowa, who is writing in a small notebook) She looks a little ragged, as though she has just been 
fighting.
Shannon: I get up and offer her my seat. 
Amber: She gladly accepts and introduces herself as Marion. (she notices Duo raising his hand) Yes 
Duo?
Duo: Can I ask her why she is here?
Amber: Of course you can. By the way, you don't have to ask me if you can do something. You can 
just do it.
Duo: Gotcha. (he notices that Trowa is still writing and tries to look over his shoulder, but Trowa 
notices him and pulls away)
Amber: Anyways, Marion explains that she is part a traveling party of adventurers who were attacked 
on their way to the city. One of her companions was killed and the rest, aside from herself, were 
captured.
Quatre: Who did this?
Amber: (as Marion) I believe it was Queen Lexus. We were supposed to help stop an uprising of 
peasants in the South, but then we discovered that the village was out of her borders, and she was 
using us as a diversion so that she could attack that country. Well, we pulled out and hid in the hills, 
but she persued us. When the winter came, we finally lost her, but apparently she hasn't given up. 
Nicole: That's horrible! How could she do that? Why would she want to attack that country anyway?
Amber: It has some of the best mining facilities in the known world, and we think that she is planning 
to use them for something, but we have no idea what. 
Heero: Why are you telling us this?
Amber: Because, I know I can trust you?
Duo: Huh? How do you know that?
Shannon: She's a diviner!
Amber: Gain five hundred experience points, Shannon.
Wufei: What? How'd she do that?
Amber: Well, you see, when someone figures something out like that, I can give them experience 
points for it, if I want to. Since that was a kind of important part, I chose to give her a lot of points.
Quatre: But what are experience points used for?
Amber: When you get enough you can raise a level, which means that you can have more hit points, 
or skills, or attacks, you know. (Quatre still looks confused) In other words, you get better. Anymore 
questions?
Heero: Mmm hmmm. How did Shannon know that Marion was a diviner? 
Amber: She knows a lot about the D and D universe from her previous experience with the game. 
Heero: (to Shannon) You've met diviners before?
Shannon: Well, no. But I've read about them.
Duo: Well where did you read about them? (He and the other Gundam pilots are begining to glare 
suspiciously at Amber and Shannon).
Amber: Hold on now guys. Ok, lets try this. Since you guys are having a little trouble with this, I say 
we postpone this session until next weekend. Until then, here's my players handbook. You guys can 
borrow it and look it over so that you can maybe understand a little bit more. Kay?
(Wufei takes the handbook and starts flipping pages. Eventually everyone leaves. The boys go home 
to the house they share with Zechs and Noin, while Shannon and Nicole go back to Shannon's house. 
Meanwhile, Amber trudges up the steps to her room, where she begins work on an entirely new 
campaign, since Wufei revealed her entire plot already. She seems quite proud of her little improv 
with the halfling diviner, but she still has a few details to work out.)
