It was a test we could all hope to pass

But none of us would want to take

Faced with the choice to deny God and live

For her there was one choice to make

This was her time

This was her dance

She lived every moment

Left nothing to chance

She swam in the sea

Drank of the deep

Embraced the mystery

Of all she could be

This was her time

Though you are mourning, and grieving your loss

Death died a long time ago

Swallowed in life, so her life carries on

Still it's so hard to let go

This was her time

This was her chance

She lived every moment

Left nothing to chance

She swam in the sea

Drank of the deep

Embraced the mystery

Of all she could be

What if tomorrow

What if today

Faced with the question

Oh, what would you say

This is your time

This is your dance

Live every moment

Leave nothing to chance

Swim in the sea

Drink of the deep

And fall on the mercy

And hear yourself praying

Won't you save me

"This is Your Time" Lyrics by Wes King, Music by Michael W Smith.

Michael W Smith: "I was in the middle of recording my album when the whole Columbine tradgedy happened. One of the hardest things I have ever done was playing at the memorial service. I could not imagine how I could offer any comfort to anyone, but after hearing the stories about Cassie Bernall, I was really struck with the need to say something about her through my music."

Cassie Bernall was one of the victims involved in the Columbine shooting. Her story is one of a faith so strong she lost her life for it. When one of the shooters asked her if she believed in God, she said yes and they shot her. She believed in God so much that when faced with the choice of living with a lie or dying with the Truth, she chose to follow her heart and pronounce her faith in God. Every day we are faced with choices such as whether or not to help the girl who just dropped her books, or to kick the books farther down the hall. These choices are not necessarily as difficult as Cassie's, but they reflect on our own faith. If we keep God in mind when making our choices, we will be rewarded in a home in heaven.
