Emme's Guster Story

Guster is my favorite band in the whole wide world, they are awesome! This is the epic story about me and my Guster.

Our story begins when Emily (the creator of this site) was in middle school.

Emily was an adverage kid. So was her friend Sia. Well not so adverage. in middle school, Emily used to wear her glasses on the front of her head and a pair of sunglasses from the dollar store on her pony tail. She also used to wear a towel around her waist over her jeans. Emiy was one cool kid! Sia wasn't that normal, either. To give you an example of this, there is a picture of Sia wearing a pair of swimming goggles posing like a body builder. This doesnt seem to odd to most people, but this wasn't a one time stunt. Sia used to skip down the hallways at her middle school. Emily used to walk through the halls singing. On top of all of this, the two were in the same Girl Scout troop, and talked about it. (this was UNHEARD of in middle school. most girls quit by the time sixth grade came, but Emily and Sia remained in it, and are still activly involved today.) The one thing that Sia and Emily had most in common was their hatred for the pop music of the late 1990's. The two used to write stories about the downfall of biy bands in their eighth grade english class. To most people, this would sound creepy and insane. Well these two were insane. That's all there is to it! Recently a girl at Centerville High School yelled at Sia "WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE
NORMAL?!?!?" Well any way, Emily and Sia's dislike for popular music grew and grew as middle school went on. The summer after eighth grade, Sia went to Greece for three months. Emily missed her a lot. Emily also went California for a week and a half during the summer. Emily's family rented a small shack near the beach. There wasn't a whole lot of things to do on the island; Emily spent most of her time either walking around going to all the stores, or watching TV in the little three room house. She did go to the beach, but Emily was tired of getting salt water in her eyes, and having to watch the sand out of very where...only she had to use the outside shower that was powered by a cold hose. Not fun. Anyway, one day Emily and her brothers, Michael and Mark were watching VH1 before they had lunch, and a new video came on. This was odd to Emily, she had seen most all of the videos that they played on her favorite station. It was kind of a cool song, but she missed the name of the song and who did it both times that they showed it on the bottom of the screen. Oh well Emily thought. It was a cool video, they will probally show it again. The next day the video was on again, and this time, Emily got the information that she mad missed the day before. The song was called "Fa Fa" and the band was called Guster. How original Emily thought, they only say fa fa about 1000 times in the song! Weird band name too. Emily made a small mental note of this. Over the next week, Emily saw the videos a few more times, and the song was played on the radio a few times. Soon Emily returned back to Centerville, Ohio, and she forgot about the song that she had heard on her trip to California.

Sia returned from Greece, summer ended and school started agian. Emily and Sia were now big freshmen (more like freshMEAT) at Centerville High School. They never saw eachother during the day, Emily had forth lunch, Sia had fifth. Emily was in the South Unit, Sia in West (this is a long distance, they are on oppisite sides of the school. The only time they ever saw eachother during the school week was on the bus. No one on the bus liked Sia and Emily. They were loud and obnoxious, and all they ever talked about was music. In November, Emily's swim season started so she wasn't on the bus as much as she used to be, so Sia and Emily didn't have the same amount of their "music talk time". The cold, harsh winter dragged on, and Emily was getting a lack of sleep because of her 5 AM morning practices, and her late night practies. (ok, ok, the 5 AM was once a week, the "late night" ones were from 8-9:15 twice a week. but its demanding!) Emily started using her talking time for "catch up on my sleep time". Soon it was the holiday season, and it was time for Emily's family's annual dinner with their friends. The two families decided to go to Damon's Steak House. (NOT Emily's favorite, but they have good sweet potado cassrole, so she survided.) Well anyway, the other family's oldest son, Kyle, was trying to impress Emily by talking about bands that she had never heard of. (Emily didn't really care and wasn't impressed, she doesn't really listen when Kyle talks. She tinks that he makes her dumber.) Kyle was babbling on and Emily was tuning in and out, in and out in and..well you get the idea and she heard the word "Guster." She thought about it for a second, and then she said "WAIT! Did you just say GUSTER?!?!?"
"Uh, yeah," Kyle said in his stupid moron voice, "it's a band, you probally never heard of them."
"NO NO NO I have heard of them!" Kyle looked stuned.
"No, i dont think you have, they dont play them on the radio around here." Emily could start to smell the sweet sent of victory.
"Yes, I have!" Emily said with a slight smrik on her face.
"Oh. HOW?"
"Fa Fa."
"Fa Fa?"
"Fa Fa."
"Oh, yea, thats a song by them."
"I know, I saw the video on VH1 this summer."
"Oh."
KYLE HAD BEEN DEFEATED! EMILY IS VICTORIOUS!!!!!!! AHHH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! ok. Emily was excited about this one, and she had been reminded about her trip and her Fa Fa video.

Back to Sia....

Swimming ended and Sia and Emily began having their music talks agian. One day Guster came up. Sia and Emily had discovered that they had been worshipping the same band. The rest, is history

In April, Sia saw Guster with her borther at Miami Univertisy. Emily did not get to see them. She sat in her room and felt sorry for herself. Her brother thought this was funny. Guster is comming to the Fraze Pavillion this July, but Emily and Sia cannot go. They will be setting up the Ohio State Fair. Too bad.....Emily is relaly sad. She actually cried.

And our saga continues.........
