SOULMATES - PART 1

Joey stared into Dawson's eyes. She saw years of friendship, two children running around the playground laughing, a boy offering a shoulder to cry on, two hands clasped - she saw a bond. A bond that was unexplainable that had developed over the years. Only the eyes were not the eyes of a boy but a man.

The colour flickered became darker, filled with passion and desire. Love. Before Joey knew what was happening Dawson's lips were on hers. Cold, wet lips pressed upon hers. Tongue probing her mouth intensely.

His hands moved so that one hand held her arm, the other had a firm grasp of Joey's hair. Lips against lips. She could feel him breathing in, breathing her very breath. Taking her oxygen. They were so close. More than substantially proximate.

Soulmates.

Did he say the words or did Joey?

Soulmates.

Was the word just echoing in her head?

His lips were everywhere taking. Joey moaned. And then they were apart.

"Tell me you didn't feel something? You can't deny it Joey. There's something there. Something there between us. Always."

"I felt something. I did Dawson." Tears were in Joey's eyes, glistening.

Before Joey could say anymore Dawson's lips were on hers again.

She felt it again more intense than ever. His soul reaching out for hers. Taking hers. Mating. Creating a new soul. Joey felt herself ebb away. Her presence, the very essence that was Joey melting away into Dawson.

He was taking her. Taking everything that was her and making it his. She couldn't breathe.

Joey was suffocating.

Dying.

Becoming another - Dawson's Joey.

Dawson's other half.

Soulmates.

Her breaths were laboured. She struggle for oxygen but Dawson claimed it as his own. She struggled for herself but Dawson took it away from her. He was too strong. She struggled, tried to move, escape but there was no one there to help her.

Outside everyone saw a couple decadently into one another.

Soul.

Essence.

Dying.

Two becoming one.

Soulmates.

Dawson continued the kiss getting everything he wanted. Everything he desired. Joey's body became limp. Dawson pulled away sure that his irresistibility had won.

There was no denying that Joey had felt something. Her life draining away from her.

Soulmates.

There was no more soul in Joey. Empty, shallow and utterly hollow. Dead. Dawson had killed her.

With a kiss.

Her lips were blue, her face pallid, her body already beginning to lose its warmth.

Soulmates.
