Post Season/Off-Season
The first season of SSU came to an end with the Newfolden Knights, now the San Jose Knights taking the title, defeating Filthy Slider in the first SSU World Series. Filthy Slider had a tough road to the World Series defeating the Trojans, who ended the regular season with the #1 seed in the AL and an amazing 191 wins. While Slider had an uphill battle to the championship match, the Knights entered the playoffs as the #1 seed in the NL and went on to beat Team Nazty and Sports!!! in route to the title. With the World Series over it's time to look forward to the off-season and the 2008 season.

Everyone remember those players you took a chance on in the draft? The players who were huge disappointments and ended up riding your bench for the larger part of this season? Well rejoice SSU'ers cause now is your chance to get rid of them. So far with 14 teams reporting in we've got a large mass of players getting dumped back into the free agent pool. Some of these players were fiscal reason, Adrian Beltre and Randy Johnson could still be worthy of a roster spot next year but one thing is for sure they are not worth $9 and $11 respectively. Overall there were over 100 players released from rosters, some of them will find a spot on a roster this off-season while some of them will not.

We've got some new owners and we've got some grizzled veterans, and no matter which one you are it's going to be an intense off-season. Those of us who made the playoffs are going to try and improve our teams so we can make it back again next year, and those of us who missed out are going to be pressing to push the teams above them out of the way. Within the week trading will open up again and we will most likely see a bevy of trading and lots of activity to keep up with. Welcome to the off-season SSU'ers the battle for next year begins now.
